There are a lot of articles and interviews coming out since the announcement of the NCAA Softball Tournament selections having to do with the Pac-12 getting totally screwed by the committee. #6 UW was seeded 16. #10 Oregon is traveling to play at #11 Texas. Arizona and ASU both got shafted and down ranked. Meanwhile the overrated SEC got something like 5 of the top 7 seeds and will get many teams at home for Regionals and Super Regionals. It was a total joke. Even our usually tactful Coach Inouye-Perez was uncharacteristically (though still inadequately) frank in her criticism of the seedings. It was actually good to see the UW team get up and walk out during the live feed of the tournament reveal and even lame old Beth Mowins was briefly startled by this. And all this after the Pac-12 "surprised" everyone by being so successful in the Men's NCAA Basketball tourney.

This needs to be a very wake up call for the new Pac-12 commissioner and why I was somewhat dismayed to see they hired a marketing guy from Las Vegas instead of an aggressive competition guy from athletics. I hope he understands both the relevance and the dangerous precedent of this "tournament" selection by the NCAA supported committee and how this can be incredibly damaging as it translates to a bigger battlefield in football and basketball.
