East Side has a decades long storied history of football excellence (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_St._Louis_Senior_High_School) including multiple state and the mythical “national championship”. East Side alums include college hall of famers like Kellen Winslow (whom my dad played with) and Dana Howard as well as other great players like Bryan Cox and Victor Scott.
