The game was a fitting end to yet another solidly-mediocre season for the "offensive genius" and an appropriate farewell to the ineptly-managed Pathetic Athletic Conference (soon to be Pac-2). Cal secured their blowout victory because they have a better coach and players who were highly motivated to stick it to UCLA and add another game to their season. For the Bruins to follow up a fairly convincing road win against U$C by coming out flat and totally flopping against Cal at home is embarassing. One could point to all of the mistakes made and current shortcomings of the players, but the primary enabler for the poor performances and utter disappointments over the past 6 seasons is Chip Alford. He's very fortunate to have D'Anton Lynn coach the Bruin defense this season., but we'll see how long he'll actually remain at UCLA.

Take away the 3 wins over cupcakes (sorry SDSU) and we are 4-8 - I would cast that as pathetic at best. We did not play Oregon or Washington so even more pathetic. When the buyout drops, there are no excuses Jarmond can hide under to retain Chip Alfraud. But even if CA is dumped, I have little confidence Jarmond will hire the right coach. We are in the proverbial abyss.

BTW, plenty of public universities fire coaches with ease. The biggest buyout being Texas A&M for $76 million. Any way you look at it, somehow Texas A&M did it and I would guess donors helped - UCLA has plenty of donors, sans Wassie, who could pony up a few mil.

Embarrassingly accurate, ma'am. Entrenched bureaucratic mediocrity. As for the buyout "bonuses', not exercising them will be MORE THAN OFFSET with plummeting attendance occasioned by attempting to present an inferior product in the SoCal sports market.

They're delusional.

(.. also noted: thank you for the very kind words, Tamara. Undeserved but greatly appreciated.)

UCLA has a top notch Mathematics program - perhaps if Guerror #2 needs help flushing out the numbers, he could lean on a Math Prof to help him through the darkness.

And... On the contrary, 💯deserved 💙💛

Should also include an IT team staffed by UCLA professors and grad students to start developing an AI program capable of selecting an ideal candidate to replace Chip Alford. LoL...

If they would have played the same type of game they played against either ASU or CAL, they probably would have lost to SDSU, so you don't have to be sorry there. I'm just sorry we all have to watch that sh** show known as UCLA football. I have found that typically after halftime when it's almost immediately apparent that the Chipster (OG) has not made any adjustments, I simply don't watch them anymore. At this point, they are unwatchable. I really don't care who their bowl opponent is or what bowl they are in. Not watching. I'm done. And yes, I will get the typical, you're not a loyal Bruin speech from others I'm sure, but I just can't see my school represented by such garbage anymore. It's too much and yea, it's embarrassing. Sorry.

Outside of the first 3 cupcake wins, the Bruins really had only 2 convincing wins this season (Stanford & U$C). Their record could easily have been much worse if they didn't have their defense. So yes, I actually gave Chip Alford way too much credit in describing this season as being mediocre. It was indeed absolutely pathetic!
