Fire Jarmond! They will point to the shiny toy of beating SC, gloss over the season, talk about the exciting new Big 10 era to start next year and Chip won’t be fired. But, the reality will be that we won’t be able to afford to fire Chip. And, whose fault is that? Fire Jarmond! Of course, UCLA won’t do that. Because, what they all do is give each other contract extensions to ensure we are on the hook for large payouts if someone is fired. One hand washes the other. And, that’s the bureaucracy of UCLA (and most every public institution) where a bloated administration says all the right things, but really strives for mediocracy and we’re left scratching our heads wondering every year how they make such dumb decisions, while we’re really just getting fleeced. Pathetic.

The game was a fitting end to yet another solidly-mediocre season for the "offensive genius" and an appropriate farewell to the ineptly-managed Pathetic Athletic Conference (soon to be Pac-2). Cal secured their blowout victory because they have a better coach and players who were highly motivated to stick it to UCLA and add another game to their season. For the Bruins to follow up a fairly convincing road win against U$C by coming out flat and totally flopping against Cal at home is embarassing. One could point to all of the mistakes made and current shortcomings of the players, but the primary enabler for the poor performances and utter disappointments over the past 6 seasons is Chip Alford. He's very fortunate to have D'Anton Lynn coach the Bruin defense this season., but we'll see how long he'll actually remain at UCLA.

Wait…wait….wait a minute. Chip Kelly just said he didn’t care what anyone said about losing to two opponents at home who were underdogs, the players with their performance for losing, quoting only the last three years of his record, win loss of 23 and 13 after being asked is the administration still supporting him. Come on, practice preparation for a game isn’t the game. This is about motivation. And your players weren’t motivated for this game and those games you lost. U$c your team was motivated, Cal, no way. It’s on the coach. Plus he has a Non winning record in his tenure. Here’s the truth Bruin fans, (UCLA)‘s football program is represented by the athletic directors desire to win. A great example of this is the potential firing of Ohio states coach, who has only one loss this season to Michigan. And because in this last three season is 1-3, not being able to beat Michigan there’s a great possibility of him being fired despite his record in 55-6 since taking over in 2019. I guess you could say there are different responsibilities & requirements being a head coach of a potential national championship team. And chip Kelly isn’t it.

At least I didn't sit through this stinkburger. Moore may still end up being the next great thing, but he's got a long way to go (and with his movement he's going to need an awesome O-Line). Anybody watch Michigan-Ohio State? Scary. The Big 10 plays DEFENSE.

Very disappointed but not surprised at the outcome. As long as our administration doesn’t care about football, this is who we are. I got to hand it to Kelly; he’s a better negotiator than Block and Jarmond.

Instead of people asking how much it will cost to fire Chip Kelly, they should ask how much it will cost to keep him?

Jarmond and Kelly should be a packaged dismissal, period!

Indiana just fired their head coach! So, let's see, Indiana was 3-9 this season, so the firing is more than well-deserved and justified. And UCLA has Indiana as game 2 next season at the Rose Bowl! So, let's do some analysis... 3-9 the previous season, new coach, playing The Chipster's (OG) at the Rose Bowl in their second games. Yep, this one is ripe for an Indiana win!

"Something has to change, but it probably won’t."

Sad - pitiful, really - but pathetically likely to be true.

What about the guy wearing the Diarrhea sweatshirt on the sidelines?

I think we can all save Joe a lot of time on the "eye test" this week vs the Cal Bears... Offense: F- Not much more to say here, Defense: C+ Only due to the fact they seemed to give up after they realized the offense wasn't really playing in this game, Special Teams: F-, again not much to add here and of course Coaching: F- And again, IT'S OBVIOUS. Overall: F Only due to the fact the defense played for about one-half before realizing how futile it was to even compete, hence the overall was moved up from F- to F.

I guess maybe the L.A. Bowl?

I would have thought Chip would be fired by now. I wonder if there is any smoke to the Jon Gruden or Brandon Staley rumors. Please no Staley.

If not now, when? Is the following acceptable by any measure: Only 7 wins against teams finishing with winning records against 21 losses? Only 2 wins this year against teams finishing with a winning record, one being an FBS school? Only one offensive TD in three of the last four games, including against ASU and Cal team at HOME that have horrible defenses--and the Cal TD was set up by the D? Lack of even incremental progress in Dante Moore's development from a supposed QB and offensive guru? Worst red-zone production in the power 5? Lack of recruiting, glaringly the worst two kickers in the power 5? Dwindling attendance and enthusiasm? What more does one need?

If more in needed, Chip's judgment is increasingly suspect. He said we had depth at every position this year. He said that we had three or four QBs who could be starters- that in his judgment, our QB room was the most talented in the country. It was also Chip who said when he came in that he would build an offensive line---now, he's built what is one of the worst pass blocking lines in power 5 football.

Not looking for a home run hire, just marked improvement. Now that Jonathan Smith is gone, AZ head coach Jedd Fisch should be pursued. He's done an amazing job actually BUILDING a program from the ground up. Also, admire his ability to both recruit and motivate. He's not the shiny hire that we need to steer clear from, but clearly a substantial upgrade and one the Bruin family can get behind and given him the patience needed to right the ship since he's proven he can build a program. Of course, that's if Fisch would even come back after being essentially let go.

We need a fresh start. If all else fails, promoting Lynn to HC and letting him decide who he wants to hire as an OC is more palatable than sticking with someone who has failed on many levels. Failed so much that it is very unlikely he'd be picked up by another power 5 conference team or ever rehired by UCLA. Even lowly the Syracuse Orange, as bad as they've been, don't even want to go there.
