UCLA Football Moves Back Into Top 25 Polls
After yesterday's win over Washington State, the Bruins re-entered both Top 25 polls this week.
Yesterday’s win over the Washington State Cougars allowed the Bruins to move back into both Top 25 polls this morning. UCLA re-entered the AP Poll at #18 while the Coaches Poll has them ranked 22nd.
UCLA’s win was a part of a Shakeup Saturday where seven of the Top 25 teams lost including the Cougars, and one more — Southern Cal — needed three overtimes to win.
Washington is the top ranked Pac-12 team, coming in at #7 in the AP Poll and #6 in the Coaches Poll. The Huskies even received one #1 vote in the Coaches Poll. The Oregon Ducks are now ranked eighth in both polls.
The triple overtime win saw the Trojans fall in both polls. Southern Cal is now tenth in the AP and ninth in the Coaches Poll.
UCLA’s next opponent, Oregon State, comes in at 15 in the AP and 14 in the Coaches Poll while Utah moves up a bit to 16th in both polls.
After losing to the Bruins, the Cougars fell to 19th in both polls, but, rather strangely, the Coaches Poll didn’t rank the Bruins ahead of the Cougs.
Three Big Ten teams sit atop of both polls. Michigan is ranked second in both and rival Ohio State is third. Meanwhile, Penn State, who UCLA will visit next season, is sixth in the AP Poll and fifth in the Coaches Poll.
Here are the both complete Top 25 polls:
UCLA’s next game will be on Saturday against the #15/14 Oregon State Beavers in Corvallis, Oregon. Needless to say, a win on the road next week will see UCLA jump significantly come next Sunday. Kickoff is set for 5:00 pm PT and the game will air on Fox.
Go Bruins!!!
