I don't understand your "hope." Chip has had his time; he has not succeeded. We now see how low the bar is for his talent at coaching. Don't expect it to miraculously change next year.

I haven't started on the Preseason Predictions results yet, but just going back over the responses, over 2/3 of respondents had the Bruins at 8-4 or better. Only 13% had us at 5-7 and below.
And a quick Google Search shows that a winning season, with at the very least a bowl game, was a pretty common prediction nationally, with more local writers believing 8-9 wins should be the minimum given the weakness of the conference.
Point is, most people expected UCLA to have a season at this level. Most did not predict the rest of the conference/LSU to be as bad as they were (case in point: Washington's preseason expectations) but 4-5 wins would have been a disaster preseason given what expectations actually were instead of what you are trying to pretend they were.
i'm not talking about UCLA fans. i'm talking about sports fans at large. Expectations were not very high for UCLA. On the flip side, part of that was probably because of Chip.

this season was pretty successful. A lot of people had us pegged as a 4-5 win team. He got a lot out of not a great roster.
Vegas O/U prior to the season was 7.
Also I picked 8-4 in my public picks prior to the season, so IтАЩd say I had a fairly good idea of how this all would go.
yes you did but a lot did not

baller, yup. They went from 8-4 to 9-3. And basically had similar issues as last year.
