The D played well and really only gave up one TD on a longer drive. The 2nd one was a very short field after Allen muffed the kickoff. In the battle of the “hangovers”, it appears that Cal was less prepared to play than the Bruins.
Haha, I went back and looked and I really did come way closer than I expected on the season. I flipped LSU and Fresno State and flipped Arizona State and Washington (to be fair, who really saw the Huskies being as bad as they were) but somehow still ended up with the right number.
The Bears fans were very quiet and frustrated at my brother-in-law's house last night. I however enjoyed a fabulous evening of watching the Bruins run up and down the field. The Las Vegas Bowl seems like a strong possibility, and the new stadium is amazing according to my brother. Not sure what it all means, but according to the LA times a rep from the Holiday Bowl was in the booth for last night's game.
I certainly don’t pretend to know the inner workings and plutons of bowl matchups, but having a rep there just seems like boondoggle. What does it matter if a Holiday Bowl rep was there?
Is it bad that I'm actually excited about this hire for a number of reasons?
I think this puts USC immediately back on the map and gets the Pac-12 two legitimate contenders for the CFP (Oregon being the other one). There's already talk of local recruits reopening their commitments from Oklahoma now that Riley is leaving.
Two CFP contenders gives the league strong leverage for Kliavkoff and the conference when they go to the negotiationing table in two years for the new TV contract.
Also, If Kelly's underperforming next year, I also think there's a good chance a USC loss next year gets him booted and Jarmond gets to go after his guy. I'm sure he'll be making some calls if he hasn't sat down with Kelly already to discuss changes for next season and force him to step his game up Harbaugh style.
All in all, good for the PAC-12, maybe good for UCLA.
Back-to-back 36K attendance at the Rose Bowl, even with 62 points against $outhern Cal in between & an 8-win season and now a Heisman-whisperer across town... if it's not Game On for the Athletic Department and Jarmond now...
At least I feel better/more hopeful about Jarmond's reaction than I would with Donut Dan opening a bottle of 2-buck Chuck Chianti and wondering what all the fuss was about
agreed. it wasn't really a fair comment. Because of the recruiting calendar, teams need to hire their coaches now. If you are not willing to leave before the season is officially over, you are not willing to leave.
If it is Vegas Ima go.

The prediction of the writers and others here of an 8-win season were spot on! Pretty impressive!

Plutons= politics.
It just means they sent a scout to scope out the competition. The Holiday Bowl is still a pretty big deal.
Wow u$c hires Lincoln Riley

I know that it's becoming the new norm but it's still classless to take a new coaching position before the season ends. $c is just being $c.
You have to remember the early signing period for recruits in December.
Oklahoma's season is over, though. They have a bowl game but those don't really count for much.
Fingers Crossed!
Lolololololol

it's literally the only way to do it. I'm not sure what you expect.
