Thoroughly enjoyed this article. Incredibly insightful and well written. The perfect reading companion to my morning cup of coffee. Ready to help push the boulder up the hill. Go Bruins!

Nice! It embodies my entire UCLA athletics philosophy. I’ve come to enjoy the losses as much as the wins over the years. There’s nothing better than tailgating at the Rose Bowl or the thrill of watching the team leave the locker room and trot out onto the field or the court or the diamond. One of my favorite parts of the game is still when the band marches through the tunnel and onto the field with the drums playing the Rose Bowl Cadence. I guess that makes me an absurdist. Go Bruins!

I guess I’m in the extreme minority that doesn’t care for Spencer Halls writing. I will agree though that college football has become an absurdist exercise for the fan, maybe not for the players as much.

Cheers to another wacky season in CFB Though it won’t happen given where the sport stands today, I would love to have another 2007 again.

Respect for all writers. This article is like getting free psychotherapy for my irrational obsession with Bruin sports. Well worth the subscription price.

Being a Bruin fan is (accidentally, I'm pretty sure) the perfect grounds for experiencing the joy and pain, the pride and humility, the logic and absurd, the hope and despair, and a host of other ridiculous extremes that form the basis for a really good epic. After that, all you need is a pencil and some talent. Most of us just have pencils, but you, DD, are loaded with the latter.

EDSBS and Channel Six would be lucky to have you on their team, but I sure am glad you're here instead. Now, come help me with this boulder. There's this asshole, Hades, and we're going up this hill...
