We talked about the lack of a better coach and I replied that you were correct, nobody better wanted to come. I don’t think UCLA had better options. I’ve already agreed with your points on that topic.

I’ve provided what I see as problems that should be fixable and Cornin refuses. If you see that as complaining then so be it. I refuse to turn a blind eye to bad coaching.

Tyger defending man to man one of the highest scoring fastest players in the conference doesn’t make sense. It’s the second time they played asu and he didn’t make the correct changes. It’s obvious to everyone watching.

Mick refuses to address the slow starts as a problem. He’s gone so far to specifically address the questions in multiple press conferences as a non issue. It’s an issue and not adequately preparing how to start games is a PROBLEM.

Why is it that I’m unable to be critical of mick’s obvious mistakes without your incessant backlash. If there are obvious coaching flaws, they should be discussed. What else are these threads for? If you came to a discussion thread where everyone had the same opinion, there wouldn’t be a lot of discussing going on

Cronin isn't going to read your critiques and complaints. LOL @ bad coaching! Tyger cannot really guard anyone with any consistency. If he doesn't play, then the offense is trash. SMH.

I think this is unfair. Cronin absolutely has some issues that are well within his control with this team. I've even pointed a few of them out in various postgames and Buzzer Beaters. Dismissing legitimate critiques just sets yourself up to get blindsided when you don't have a positive outcome.

I think about Nick Saban's coaching a lot, and one thing that always sticks out to me is how critical he is of his team's shortcomings in a blowout victory. There's a culture at Alabama football where they do not accept things in a victory that would be unacceptable in a loss, and I find it to be an excellent mindset.

Consider applying that to this particular game: UCLA played terrible basketball for about 90% of this game, played acceptable basketball for another 9%, and then played perfectly for about 1%, and they got the victory less through their own efforts and more through the sheer ineptitude of Arizona State when it comes to holding onto a lead. And I am less sympathetic to the "UCLA is missing key pieces" argument in this particular game because the same could be said of Arizona State. In fact, it's even worse for the Sun Devils because they've had guys in and out of the lineup and so many postponements that I'm unsure why they're even playing games anymore. So should we be happy about a victory? Absolutely, but this is an extremely weird game to crow about the program being headed in the right direction.

Hard to play to it's abilities when it's best player has a torn ACL, best defender has personal problems, and best low post scorer has a bum ankle. Nobody was happy with losing to SC, Stanford, and Wazzu, but the relentless critiquing when the team is handcuffed on availability is kind of short sighted, IMO.

When another team is hot AF from outside sometimes there's nothing you can do!

They have bad perimeter defenders. With Hill out, the rotation on defense to the three point is trash. They can't cheat anymore guarding the line, because Hill isn't there to clean it up. Also, the interior defense is shot now, because the best shot blocker is gone. We don't have the available personnel to be lockdown on perimeter defense. We could play Clark more, but then the offense suffers. There's no easy solution. We've tried zone, and that was a disaster against SC.

Christopher and Bagley would just jack up low percentage shots. We're missing our best defender, FFS.
