that the Pac 12 and its member schools have been run by a bunch of morons for the last 15 years and so now the non-revenue student athletes are HOSED?

I was going to say 13 years and express sadness for the end of the second oldest major conference in the US, but spot on otherwise 😅

Are the non-revenue sports indeed hosed by the move to the Big-10? UCLA Athletics lost $28 mil in 2022 while under the Pac-12 banner while continuing to operate their non-revenue programs. They will receive double their conference revenue earnings by moving to the Big-10 which should allow them to operate in the black. Shouldn't that save the non-revenue programs and provide a larger subsidy to support their operations?

Sure, the travel is going to present major obstacles. But considering Oregon and Washington just joined the fold, how scheduling and travel requirements will lay out remain to be seen.

IMO, the folks in power need to take a good look at the MPSF and other leagues that organize and promote non-revenue sports. Golf, gymnastics, track and field are sports that generate millions of dollars worldwide but because the competition is mismanaged and relegated to a lower-class status, they don't draw the attention they deserve.

They sure are. The travel is a MAJOR issue for the non revenue sports and their FAMILIES. Currently the entire conference is basically a 2.5 hour flight at most away. 5 opponents within driving distance. Now we have multiple conference mates on the east coast.
