UCLA's Game Against North Carolina Cancelled Due to COVID-19
The game will not be rescheduled.
When Wednesday’s game against Alabama State was cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols, it seemed pretty unlikely that Saturday’s game against North Carolina would be played.
Then, yesterday, the women’s basketball game against Texas Southern was cancelled as well.
This morning, UCLA has announced that tomorrow’s scheduled game against the North Carolina Tar Heels has also been cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols. Both games of this year’s CBS Sports Classic have now been cancelled since the game between Ohio State and Kentucky was cancelled yesterday.
Additionally, the athletic department announced that team activities have been paused and the status of future games is to be determined.
That would seem to put Wednesday’s final non-conference game against Cal Poly in jeopardy.
It would appear that the next men’s game that will be played would be the December 30th game against Arizona, but that’s just speculation at this point.
It’s not clear yet if Sunday’s women’s game against Ohio State will be played.
Hopefully, everyone involved with both the men’s and women’s programs will get well soon, and hopefully, the Mo Ostin Basketball Center gets sterilized ASAP so both programs can resume playing.

Does ucla have a quarantine/test protocol? For example, in the nba, a positive test leads to 10 days in quarantine or two negative tests over 24 hours. Was wondering if ucla has something similar because if they do hopefully they can get back sooner than later, good thing our whole teams/staff fully vaccinated too.
Just cancelled my plane tickets to Vegas. Hope everyone gets better soon! It seems that COVID protocol forfeits are likely to hit nearly all basketball programs sometime this season. Washington, Ohio State, Syracuse, UCLA, .... this list will grow.
