Last year, I felt bad for Foster being put in an impossible situation and being willing to step up to face what chip left behind... now, he owns this mess and I'm starting to wonder whether he's going to do more damage to the program with his coaching than his accepting a truck in '01

Learning on the job making $3MiI a year I have never felt sorry for Foster. He could have passed on the job offer. A person should know his professional limits. Ditto with our “Athletic Director”. Shame on them.

Ditto.

I got Joe's email blast on this game and, not having watched the game, I viewed a couple of summary YouTube videos to catch up.

The thing that struck me was the video of DSF's postgame 4:12 "Meet the Depressed" chat. While DSF is a decent guy, he's a decent guy who is pulling down three double extra large as Fruithi mentions. You'd think he'd stick around and give the press (and the public) a bigger slice of the pie. There's something going on there.

Joe also presented the buyout math and suggested an optimum point when to pull the plug on this fiasco. But what's missing in his analysis are such factors as plummeting attendance/ticket revenue, the incremental cost analysis of purchasing additional tarps to offset the vacant seat phenomenon, etc. Bottom line: there won't be much of a bottom line if this proceeds along its current trajectory.

Of course, we need to 86 the Fetus as well.

..truth be told, we went through this almost two decades ago when we were waving goodbye to Karl Dorrell. The only difference is that the revenue and attendance during Karl's regime were 2-3X more robust and he did come up with a few surprises.

I still feel bad because he has had little to no opportunity to build a program and he will likely never get one. UCLA has no football culture and little to no success in the 21st Century. The idea that a coach with no head coaching experience can turn a program around in a year and a half is ridiculous. UCLA Football needs a complete overhaul and total culture change. Don’t blame DeShaun Foster for the state of UCLA Football. UCLA Football has been irrelevant for the most part since 1998.

I feel bad for Foster too. I am sure he honestly felt he could turn Football into a huge success.

Invariably most people have accepted a job in their lifetime where deep down they knew they were not qualified but believed they could still be successful.

Some do achieve success but only if a strong foundation is in place.

Sadly, no such foundation exists for UCLA Football, only a bunch of broken pieces. That is why failure is so prevalent.

The buyout is small considering the massive revenue, fan base and recruits that will be lost. Very difficult to recover as loyalty is no longer a part of college ball.

Never felt so empty and we are only two games in. 🥲💙💛

"Missed it by that much. We were right there. Just another 34 points and we would have won!"
