#1 UCLA Baseball Opens 2026 NCAA Tournament Against St. Mary's
The top-seeded Bruins begin their Road to Omaha against the Gaels.
It’s a gorgeous Spring Quarter day in Westwood and the weather should be perfect for some daytime baseball when the top-seeded UCLA Bruins take their first step on the Road to Omaha when they face the St. Mary’s Gaels.
Today’s game is scheduled to begin at Noon PT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2. You’ll note that is a change from earlier this week when today’s game was originally scheduled to be ESPNU. Of course, that won’t matter if you’re streaming today’s game.
The Bruins enter today’s game as the top seed in the tournament after they won the Big Ten tournament title on Sunday on a dramatic walk-off hit-by-pitch in extra innings over the Oregon Ducks. Despite that, the Bruins finished the regular season as the wire-to-wire top team in the nation. Now, they just need to execute to earn their way back to Omaha for the College World Series.
Today’s opponent is the Gaels of St. Mary’s College. The Gaels earned their tournament bid by defeating the USF Dons after being the #5 seed in the WCC tournament.
While today’s game should result in a Bruin win, the fact remains that you just can’t predict baseball. So, grab some food and a cold drink and settle in for nine innings of Bruin baseball.
