How to Watch, Listen and Stream UCLA Bruins at Southern Cal Trojans: Game Time, TV Schedule, Radio, Odds and More
Can Chip Kelly save his job? Does he need a win to do so?
A loss by UCLA tomorrow should end Chip Kelly’s tenure in Westwood. It may not, but if it doesn’t his seat will get much hotter moving forward. To say Chip needs to win tomorrow might be an understatement, even though Scott Reid of the Orange County Register has a paywalled article in which Casey Wasserman calls the desire to fire Kelly ridiculous.
That means either Tracy Pierson or Casey Wasserman are wrong. Sunday should be interesting.
Let’s look at the odds on tomorrow’s game.
Odds
The Bruins are a 6.5-point underdog in tomorrow’s game. That seems generous after the past two UCLA games.
I think Southern Cal may not score as many points as they put up against some other teams this year, but I think they score at least 28 tomorrow. Meanwhile, I expect the Bruin offense to struggle to score 21. That means the Trojans are likely to cover the spread.
While I would never bet against the Bruins, especially against SC, I just don’t see UCLA being able to cover the spread here. My pick: Southern Cal minus the points.
The Over/Under is 65.5 points. Even if both teams score an extra touchdown each, the Over/Under seems really high . So, I have to take the Under this week.
After last week’s game, my record for the season is now 5-4 against the spread this season, having been right for the games against Coastal Carolina, SDSU, Washington State, Oregon State and Stanford while I was wrong for the Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State games. The good news was that UCLA’s bad offensive game, combined with the defense meant the teams only scored a total of 24 points to cover the Under. As a result, I’m now 6-3 on the Over/Under, with wins for the SDSU, Utah, Stanford, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State games and losses for the Coastal Carolina, Washington State, and Oregon State games. I declined to offer any predictions for the NCCU game.
Tailgating and Game Time Weather Forecast
If you’re heading to the Mausoleum tomorrow for the game, expect to be tailgating in the rain. When on-campus tailgating begins at 6 am, it will be 62° with a 53% chance of showers. By 9 am, it will warm slightly to 65° and the chance of showers will drop to about 45%. The rain should stop briefly between 11 am and 12 Noon when the chance of rain falls to just 24%.
But it should start back up again around noon when the temperature reaches the day’s high of 67°. The rain should end for good around halftime when the temp slips back to 66°. It will remain cloudy throughout the second half while the temperature remains in the mid to upper 60s.
Depth Chart
By this point in the season, the Bruin depth chart is a bit of a cruel joke. Since it doesn’t actually reflect changes Chip Kelly has made to the depth chart.
Regardless of that, here is UCLA’s official depth chart for tonight:

There is as little interest in this game as I've ever seen, and it's a rivalry game to boot. Sad.
After ending up with mediocre records for games coached by Chip Alford and also in trying to predict their actual outcomes beforehand, you would think somebody should be let go by now.... LOL
