The UCLA Bruins will play their third of four games on their current road trip tonight in Palo Alto against Stanford.
So far, it’s been a really bad trip for the Bruins. After a great homestand to end January, UCLA went into Tucson and lost to the Wildcats by ten points. Then, on Saturday night, they fell in triple overtime to Arizona State. The Bruins fell to #12 in the country yesterday really as a result of the ASU loss because the Arizona loss wouldn’t have knocked them out of the Top Ten by itself, but the combination of back-to-back losses, one of which was to a down Sun Devil team, forced them to fall further.
Tonight, the road trip continues and, this time, it will be Stanford looking for payback after UCLA delivered an embarrassing win over the Cardinal to end the final January homestand.
It’s hard to know which Stanford team will show up tonight. On one hand, there is the team which has beaten Oregon once and Southern Cal twice. Then, there’s the team which lost to Colorado, got crushed by Arizona and lost to Washington by three points.
If the team that beat Southern Cal shows up, tonight’s game could be a brawl, but if the team that rolled over for the Wildcats comes to Pauley tonight, the game could be over by the first half.
Ultimately, I think that’s what it will come down to. If the Cardinal come to Westwood tonight and don’t play with intensity, this game could be over by halftime as long as UCLA doesn’t let them back into the game in the second half like they did against Colorado twice.
We all know that it was the team that rolled over for the Wildcats that showed up to Pauley. That leaves a new question for tonight’s game. Which Bruin team will show up to Maples Pavilion?
Will it be the team that crushed Stanford in Westwood or will it be the team that got swept in Arizona?

I guess when you only have about 4000 fans it's easier to hear the 3 hecklers talking about Riley's trip to china in asian accents. But I don't see him spitting into the crowd. Where's Mac?
I hate this let Campbell dribble the clock down and take a desperation shot business… it happens a lot and he’s not the guy that should be shooting desperation shots. He’s the shortest player on the court for goodness sake!!!!!
