Vibes were immaculate once all the Bruins in the stands and around the world saw our front seven on defense get stout. Loving the work Lynn has put in with the defense so far and PFF is agreeing with it with how obscenely high the defense is on defensive metrics. Pretty cool to see that in the Chip Kelly era of double the offense. Will it be sustainable? Ask me after the Utah game and their rushing attack which has made UCLA look little, year in and year out. But if they're legit then the Oregon St game just got a lot more interesting.

Dante is HIM when he dropped that pass into a thimble for Loya(?) going into the sideline on a deep corner route. Hate to feel this for Garbers but talent will win out more often than not in CFB.

Pumped for the band this Saturday and to see Dante make some more eye popping throws in what should be an easy win lead by the running game.

I know you're a massive Hardin stan but I'm loving the two pronged attack with their different running styles between him and Steele (track meet vs bruiser). I know we were spoiled with Charbs being the total package but they've picked up right where he left them.

Yeah, I don't want to discount Steele and his ability by any stretch, I just think Harden is a more complete runner of the two, as he is a similar big back but has way more burst. I do wonder what Steele looks like once we get into Pac-12 play, much in the same way I always wonder about any transfer we bring in from the G5 (see also: Muasau, the Murphy twins, Hearn last year).

Re. Steele and Hardin, I seem to recall the latter trucking a few defensive players these last two games :-)

Steele hits people at the second level and stays on his feet, there was a thundering run late in the 3rd of the SDSU game where he did just that on the 3rd and forever.

Dude is a bully and is the better pass protector at the moment too, always picks up an extra man and stuffs them. I really think it's his best asset right now to make him stand out from Harden.

I remember which run you were talking about, it was in the 2nd quarter and came at a point where SDSU was trying to get back into the game. Steele just absolutely trucked the defender, unfortunately his momentum also was stopped so he was tackled pretty quickly after.

I do think Steele is a bit better in pass pro and that's likely why he's getting a bit more play at the moment to help out the OLine and better protect Moore. I also think Harden is more capable of hitting a home run which would also serve to protect Moore by better unlocking the play-action game.
