This evening, the UCLA Bruins host the Colorado Buffaloes at Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins are looking to close out the week by sweeping the Mountain schools after UCLA beat the Utes on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Buffs are looking to do the same after they beat Southern Cal, 72-62.
As I said in our Game Preview earlier today, tonight’s game looks to be another game where the first team to 70 wins. While I expect the Bruins to win, I don’t expect it to be any easy game by any shape of the imagination. In fact, to the contrary, I’m kind of expecting this game to be another nail-biter like Thursday’s game against the Utes.
Of course, Thursday also saw Chris Smith end his slump by leading the team with 16 points. But there is some bad news this afternoon. Smith tore his ACL during Thursday’s game and, according to the UCLA Men’s Basketball Twitter account, he will miss both tonight’s game and the rest of the season.
While we certainly join in wishing him a speedy recovery, the Bruins will need someone else to step up tonight against the Buffs as a result.

Yes, I was there then, too. I loved hearing the Big Mac chant. I got there in 77 and finished my PhD in '83
