Tonight, the Bruins will host the Arizona State Sun Devils one final time as members of the Pac-12. Given that it is a night game, #Pac12AfterDark could be out in full force, but I don’t even think that that will keep the Bruins from winning tonight’s game.
Here are the Keys to the Game for the Bruins tonight:
Keys to the Game
1. Score Early and Often
The Bruins struggled to get the ball into the end zone against Arizona last week. Tonight, UCLA needs to get the ball over the goal as early and as often as possible.
2. Shutout
Arizona State can’t win if they can’t score. The Bruins have one of the best defenses in the country while the Sun Devils have one of the worst offenses. That sets things up for a potential goose egg by the UCLA defense tonight. Keeping ASU off the scoreboard will go a long way towards securing a win at home.
3. Ball Control
The other problem the Bruins have had is keeping possession of the football. First, it was an issue with too many interceptions. Then, against Colorado, they started putting the ball on the ground when running the football. Whether UCLA is throwing or running, they need to avoid giving the ball away to ASU tonight.

He's QB3 for a reason. Great runner, at best average passer. Both Garbers and Moore got hurt last game. Guess Kelly decided to rest them, given the competition
Man, UCLA is hard to watch at the moment. The offense is terrible. I guess Chip, kept recruiting QBs this year thinking ‘ I haven’t bothered to put together an offensive line, so will need depth at QB’
U - clap clap clap
C - clap clap clap
L clap clap!
L! clap clap clap
A! clap clap clap
Joe, It's been almost half a century, but isn't an 8-clap 4 letters with two claps each?
U C L A Fight fight fight!
It's three claps, Jim
Good evening and thanks, bb!
Here we go Bruins, here we go! Good evening Bruin friends! Is that not the loosing team? Is this not the Winning team?
Great to see you Jim!
You, too, Tamara! Go Bruins!
Hi everyone! Leaving the Cal game. Should be home for kickoff!
Good evening, Bruin Mama! Safe travels!
Easy drive once we leave campus!
Good luck!
Made it! 🎉💙💛
YAY!
I am going to be like 20 minutes before I know what is actually happening, I am watching a CFL playoff game.
Work before play, huh, Ry? :-)
Hah, yeah.
Let's go, Bruin family!!
I crack up at the "Just a short drive from downtown Los Angeles." Yes, short as the bird flies, but time-wise? Hell no!
Woah, Schlee is starting? I thought both Garbers and Moore practiced this week
What! Why him, isn't he the worst of the 3?
He's QB3 for a reason. Great runner, at best average passer. Both Garbers and Moore got hurt last game. Guess Kelly decided to rest them, given the competition
True
And it backfired. Chip is a clown!
I read that Chase Griffin might even play!
I have literly never heard of him.
I read Garbers was throwing but was not able to run much at all. Maybe Moore is under concussion protocol?.
Schlee gets the start.
Let's go, Bruins!!
That is the weirdest formation I've seen this year
A penalty already…
We got lucky on that last penalty. No excuses, defense-- step it up!
Good job staying home, defense!
ASU figured out secondary is our weakness. I expect to see more passes than runs from them today.
Schlee is a great runner so I expect us to start with 12 passes.
Chip gotta Chip!
Looks like he's playing against the type to start so I'm happy so far lol
Hi Bruin Fam - expect to only be able to pop in and out of the game today. Hopefully the Bruins can put it away early.
Perfect use of Adkins

First down on the ground!
ouch
We lost 17 yards on that sack.
Crap!
Yeah, let's pass for four! /s
And it goes to hell when we start trying to pass :(
Undisciplined play. Another penalty.
I am back guys, that sack was bad, -17 yards
Sadly, you haven't missed much
Me 2
Let's go, defense!!
How the hell did we jump the count again?? Thought we were over that -_-
Just gave them a fresh set of downs ugh
4 penalties in the first quarter. Sad
What a mess.
Defense needs to settle down - can’t jump on 4th and short
QB got rocked on that last hit!
That was a perfect pass to Churchwell (stupid autocorrect)
That certainly was perfect!
splat!
No one but Bruins in the end zone!
Normally when you throw into triple coverage you at least have a receiver in the area LoL
That was kind of strange.
Announcer said we have good field position to score; dude, we're on the 20!
LOL
That is what Schlee is great at!
Schlee runs for a big gain!
Sorry I missed the start of the game. Is Dante still injured?
Yes
Darn 😞
yup, we'll still force the passing game.
Nice pass by Schlee after a scary pass by Schlee
TJ!
Okay, I've had enough of Adkins. Let's just let Harden and Steele handle the rock from now on
K-rap, fumble. :(
Another fumble
Man, UCLA is hard to watch at the moment. The offense is terrible. I guess Chip, kept recruiting QBs this year thinking ‘ I haven’t bothered to put together an offensive line, so will need depth at QB’
And the announcer thinks Chip is an offensive genius 🤣
The announcer must be stupid.
We are going to need the defense to score at this rate
I thought ASU could ill afford to. hurt another QB, but here is the QB running on a bad ankle
C'mon, defense, wrap them up!! It's just basic fundamentals!!
It feels like they’re really messing with the Ds heads with these formations
They're certainly messing with my head!
Where is the smothering defense? So hard to watch this.
Smothering itself.
