#3 UCLA Women's Water Polo Cruises Past #6 UC Berkeley, Looks for Another Win Today
The Bruins wrap up their two-game series with the Bears today after winning yesterday's game, 11-5.

After beating the UC Berkeley Golden Bears yesterday, 11-5, the Bruins will host the Bears again this morning. The opening sprint is scheduled for 11 am PT.
Last Time Out
UCLA never trailed in yesterday’s game. Ava Johnson got the Bruins on the scoreboard first when she scored with 5:40 to go in the first quarter. UC Berkeley tied the game on a penalty shot with 4:03 left. Just 24 seconds later, Abbi Hill put UCLA ahead for good on a power play goal. Malia Allen gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead when she scored with 2:58 to go in the quarter. The Bears closed the gap when they scored the final goal of the period. As a result, the Bruins had a 3-2 lead after the first quarter.
In the first minute of the second quarter, UCLA got a pair for goals from Katrina Drake and Hannah Palmer to make it 5-2, Bruins. UC Berkeley’s first goal of the quarter came on a powerplay goal with just over five minutes to go in the half, but UCLA responded 14 seconds later with a goal by Val Ayala. The Bears scored their final goal of the half, which made it 6-4, with 2:17 left. Roxy Wheaton picked up the Bruins’ last goal of the first half, giving them a 7-4 lead at the break.
UCLA held the Bears scoreless in the third quarter. Unfortunately, they could only score once in the quarter themselves. Allen scored the only goal of the period as the Bruins doubled up the Bears, 8-4.
Lexi Liebowitz scored a pair of goals which were sandwiched around UC Berkeley’s only fourth quarter goal while Annaliese Miller scored the final UCLA goal of the game as the Bruins won this one, 11-5.
