UCLA Women’s Golf Tied for 12th Place After Round Two at NCAA Championships
The Bruins were able to climb into a tie for 12th place after yesterday's action.

The UCLA women’s golf team now sits in a tie with Michigan State for 12th after two rounds of play at the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Bruins were able to move up three places as a result of the team shooting a 5-over 293. Meanwhile, the Stanford Cardinal took over first place with a second round score of 278. The Bruins are now 26 strokes behind Stanford.
UCLA will need to finish in the top 15 today in order to make the cut and continue play tomorrow and they will need to finish in the top eight after play tomorrow to advance to the match play portion of the competition.
The Bruins were led by Emma Spitz again yesterday. For the day, Spitz shot a 2-under 70, which moved her into fourth place on the leaderboard. She is now six strokes behind leader Rachel Heck of Stanford.
Annabel Wilson improved yesterday, shooting a par 72. Emilie Paltrinieri finished third on the team yesterday with a 1-over 73. Yuki Yoshihara also improved yesterday. She shot a 6-over 78. Simar Singh was the only Bruin who didn’t improve on her Friday score when she shot a 9-over 81. Her score was the one dropped from the team score yesterday because she was fifth on the team.
The Bruins are back at it today with an 11:30 am PT tee time on hole 1.
