Thank Dimitri for writing about them even if you didn’t want to jinx it. Hopefully it doesn’t jinx them! It would be fun to do a game thread for the ladies and not just the worst shooting college team I’ve ever seen.🤣

Thank goodness for the UCLA Lady Bruins team--no need to worry about jinxing them. The men's team, unfortunately, seem to be steadily deteriorating into a Howland 2.0 failure. Go Bruins!

I think Mick haa lost the team. Yes, Howland 2.0 or worse.

For the complaints about howland 2.0, I loved him as a coach. I would take him any day over Steve Alford.

I think this team just needs time to improve and jell. And maybe this was meant to be a lost season anyway with the previous generation all leaving.

Mick bullies his players. Not acceptable.

He BULLIES his players? lmfao. these are grown men. Here are some EPIC Mick quotes from the last post game press conference:

"The fallacy is that freshmen get better as the year goes on. It’s a fallacy because forget the one percentile. For the rest of ‘em, it’s harder as the year goes on, ‘cause it gets harder to win, ‘cause there’s scouting reports, games mean more and it’s more physical."

"The most important thing for a teacher is for his students to have aptitude or they can’t learn, they can’t apply, so your rate of progress and development is way too slow. So if a team makes adjustments, we struggle to adjust to instruction on the fly."

"You can’t call your mommy. She can’t help you. You’ve got an opportunity of a lifetime and it may not last forever depending on your performance."

On yanking Ilane Fibleuil after a quick turnover: "That's on him, not me. Like I tell guys, it's hard. So you can quit and go home or make an excuse and transfer like 1,900 guys or you can get better, look in the mirror. But you've got to look in the mirror first."

Such a legend. Recruit are taking note -- do not come to this school if you want to be babied and told how great you are when you are not. Now if only our f'ing retread football coach had this level of grit.

Evan... keep digging a bigger hole. I refuse to argue with you as your lack of knowledge of the impact of bullying and degrading a person is incredible. Age is irrelevant and perhaps speaking with a young man who has been bullied and belittled would enlighten you... my gentle compassionate but emotionally scarred son comes to mind.

you refuse to argue because you are not confident in your argument. you have no facts. you are utterly incapable of backing up your false claim that Mick "bullies" his players.

an article about the women's team and the comments are about the men's team. O_o

Even Alford's name (yuck) was brought up, LOL! Forget about the men's team this year, they've just been too painful to watch and are just practicing to get better for next season. For the ladies, they relied primarily on Charisma Osborne last year, but this year's team has a LOT more depth to advance beyond the Sweet-16 in March. They have a tough stretch of road games coming up, so we'll see how good they really are. Good news for women's basketball in general is the new 8-year deal that the NCAA and ESPN just signed to give the sport more coverage and publicity.

I hear you... Watching the women play with rhythm and poise is truly great! They have a strong chance of winning it all and we sure need something uplifting this year! 💙💛
