Japreece Dean has been selected by the Chicago Sky in the Third Round of this year’s WNBA Draft. Dean’s selection by the Sky means that she will continue to wear familiar colors.
Dean was selected 30th overall, but she was the Sky’s second pick after the team chose Ruthy Hebard from Oregon with the 8th pick overall.
Dean is the fourth Bruin to have been selected over the last three drafts. Jordin Canada and Monique Billings were drafted by Seattle and Atlanta, respectively, in 2018 while Kennedy Burke was chosen 22nd overall last year by Dallas and now plays for Indiana.
Dean left UCLA after this season as the Bruins all-time single season free throw percentage leader after making 92.2% of her tries from the charity stripe in the 2018-19 season. She finished her UCLA career with 1,088 points and is the 37th player in program history to score more than 1,000 points.
Congratulations, Japreece!
Go Bruins!!!
