Let’s hope Jaylen is okay - we’ll really need him in the tournament.

If it’s an Achilles tear he might not be ready to see the court until next January. It’s a long rehab and he’ll probably need to redshirt next year and play again in two years.

If that’s the case we will probably never see him in a Bruin uniform again. Will just declare for the 2024 draft

Yea, I hope it’s not that long. I don’t really expect him to play this season again but hope it doesn’t affect his future. We need to do well in the Pac-12 tournament now since I think they can drop you a little due to players out for rest of season.

Until we hear from UCLA officially, everything is pure speculation, including what I heard last night at the parking lot. Jaylen Clark is a quiet person. Polite and courteous to a fault. We like him immensely. At the game the other day, one of the teams academic adviser and his wife were in attendance too. They had nothing but praises for him. Whatever happens, good or bad, I wish him all the very best in everything he does in his life.

First of all, tonight's slow start is understandable, a different breed so to speak. It was a happy yet emotional night for the seniors and their families. The latter turned out en masse, never even sat down for a minute. These kids made their parents proud, their own heart beats and pulse rates tripled. How can you expect them to turn it on right at get go ?!?

Then after the first ten minutes, they turned it on. Bailey was sneakily agile, quick to score under the baskets. Bona's incredible leap and block probably surprised Walton too. He will be even more ferocious and intimidating at both ends as his game matures right before our eyes. I'd say to the ref to knock it off. Little stuffs here and there, leave him alone, please.

Singleton was a happy kid tonight. We saw him literally prancing around after the game. What a wonderful young man. His beautiful high arching three pointers will scare many in the tournaments. They went in as if they were laser guided. Tripleton is the right nickname for him.

Jaquez and Campbell played their hearts and soul out tonight. They gave it their all. Pauley fans will miss Campbell's big, infectious smile every time he heard some girls calling him out. He turned around, smiled as his unique hairdo waved. It is such an adoring image of him.

Tonight's packed crowds seemed unusually ecstatic, adrenaline fueled. Their excitements were off the charts from the get go. As I am on my way home, I can visualize many of them in Westwood still " party like it was 1999 " - just to paraphrase some lyrics from a hit song by the late Prince.

It is good to be young for them and at our age, to recall all that fond memories of having once attended UCLA whose mystique remains head and shoulder above many other schools.

What a night at Pauley! My Apple Watch warned me about excessive noise! Hoping Jaylen Clark’s injury isn’t too serious. Mac Etienne had a great game inside. And the play that sums up Mick Cronin basketball was Will McClendon diving on the floor and tapping the ball ahead to JJJ. Our boys were better and tougher than Arizona.

Our players put on a show for their proud parents, grateful fans, supportive former players. It was Times Square after the balls dropped as the clock struck twelve. I just got home and I know it won't be easy falling asleep tonight. My ears still hum to some extent. Arizona went downhill following the second foul of their leading player. He could score but with i on the bench, their momentum was lost. Tommy Lloyd did heck of a time keeping his player together for a good, albeit futile comeback fight.

Was at the game tonight seated in the corner section next to the bench. Crowd was on fire. They honored the 72-73 team with Tyus and Bill, and Bill looked like he was flying high. Norman Powell, Russ and Nina, and even Lorenzo Mata were in attendance!

When Jaylen went down it sucked the wind out of everybody in our section. I don’t know what the TV cameras captured but he was in agony. Looked like it was non-contact too.

Hoping he tweaked his ankle but I’m afraid it might be his Achilles. We’ll find out soon enough…

Lorenzo is suited up and ready to play! Does he have any eligibility remaining? He's among my Bruin favorites.

As I recall, Lorenzo's game was simple but efficient. He got the job done underneath the basket unlike other star players with a dazzling array of offensive weapons. He was humble too. Very often the first one out of the locker room after the game, he chatted amicably with his group of admirers. I didn't see him court side perhaps because I was busy talking with others, tried to get the " hot tips " for you and my fellow bruin fans. LOL !! I am just kiddin' you but I can;t help it, my friend.

Congratulations to Coach Cronin on an outstanding regular season and getting his team in position to make a serious run at an NCAA championship.

This team might not be the most talented team to ever grace the floor of Pauley Pavilion in UCLA's history, but the team has shown that it has more courage and more heart than other more talented teams in recent UCLA history, and is very ready to meet and beat the challenges that lie ahead.

Win or lose, this team is going to grind, fight, and leave it all on the floor. And if they're the last team standing when March Madness draws to a close, this could be a team for the ages.

U-C-L-A Fight! Fight! Fight!

Let's go Bruins!

Worried about the refs and Bona getting into foul trouble again? Instead, 3 Mildcats fouled out of the game, including their best player, Tubelis. Another slow start and poor shooting by the Bruins? No problem, as their elite defense prevented AZ from running away with the game at the start, and then UCLA held control of the game thereafter. They even hit most of their FTs (20 for 22). Hope Jaylen's injury isn't serious, but Cronin's team still has plenty of depth and toughness. Fantastic final home game for the seniors (Stong even got a rebound!). Wish them best of luck in the Pac-12 tournament next week. Go Bruins!

What a fun and great win to take it to Arizona and come away with a victory. Watched the Clark injury a few times and it definitely looks like a heel injury. Non contact and didn’t roll it or anything. Hope he’s ok, but going to be tough to replace his offensive rebounding, defending, and steals. Assuming an mri today, still probably won’t announce anything for another couple days right?

Either way, going to need some others to step up, and ucla has plenty that can. Will we see Dylan Andrews take his spot? He could be the next best defender but doesn’t have nearly the same size. Mclendon isn’t it either.

Anything can happen at the big dance. Reserve players may suddenly come alive in dire situations, make some incredible plays or score under desperate circumstances to save the team for another day. In the event that the worst does happen for Jaylen, I am hoping the players you mentioned and others could fill in admirably for Jaylen. Let's chalk it up to the power of positive thinking.

Joe, what the 4-1-1 on Jaylen's Achilles tendon? The radio team let on that it was serious and season-ending. Hope it's manageable. Also, does the PAC-12 tournament finish influence seeding? (He asked naively before reading the other comments.)

Cronin commented that he will have an MRI today. Until the results come back from that there probably won’t be any details. MRI’s are typically done to check for severe ligament damage. Because there was no rolling of the ankle they are probably looking at the Achilles to see if it’s torn and to what extent… I’m not a doctor, but that’s what twitter seems to say 😢

Another guy from last night who left Pauley with us just texted me. He said Jaylen underwent MRI sometime today and they are awaiting results. I asked him who did he learn it from and he said his daughter, an employee on campus. Usually, MRI results are available soon as it is done, at least it was for me when I had MRI for my right leg - iliotibial band syndrome - to make sure it was not anything more serious than that. As soon as I put my pants and shoes back on, the medical technician and the doctor came into the room and went over the images with me. So I have no idea why this time with Jaylen, if it has already been done for him, would take UCLA so long to announce the outcome. In any event, he is an important player on the team. Our entire bruin family is pulling for him and wish him well. altogether.

Wooden frequently jogged at the football practice field on campus after he retired. It was my junior year. Busy with my studies, I never had the chance to go out there just to say hi and wave at him because other students told me he never jogged at the same time everyday. So if you saw him one day, you may not see him the next day roughly the same time. It was during my grad school years back at Wisconsin - Larry Brown was coaching -when I flew out west on a long weekend to visit that I came upon Wooden, in his jogging suit doing his thing. My friend and I barely ate at Ackerman Union when somebody said Wooden was jogging. We went out there and already many students had assembled at one spot, waving at him, calling him out as if they got a kick out of seeing their grandpa exercising. He waved back too, smiling and kept on going. On the day when his grandson Tripani put in a rebound basket against Arizona, some long time season ticket holders said yesterday that they swear they saw the banners inside Pauley were fluttering too - when there was no wind inside Pauley.

Good morning to all my fellow bruin alums and fans, here is what we have found out about Jaylen Clark. Based on what we were told by the athletic department, " they already know the results. It is now pending on Mr. Clark himself and Coach Cronin's decision regarding when to release it. " That person won't say anything further.

Essentially, it is not saying much I understand but it is what it is. And as the saying goes, it ain't over until the fat lady sings. We should just continue to keep our fingers crossed and wish Jaylen Clark all the very best.

UCLA is now the second ranked team in the AP/Coaches poll and will finish the regular season with the 2nd best record amongst major conference teams. Houston, the only team ranked above it, can only claim 5 quad 1 wins to UCLA's 7, and Houston also has a quad 3 loss. UCLA is one of only 3 teams this season without a Quad 2 or lower loss.
