UCLA's Den Student Section to Relocate for 2021 UCLA Football Season
The Den is moving back to its original location after the Pac-12 ADs changed a rule prohibiting the student section from being on the same sideline as the visiting team.
UCLA announced this morning that, due to a change in Pac-12 rules, the Den Student Section will be moving back to Section 6 through 9 for the 2021 season.
These are the same sections where the Den was located prior to the 2017 season when UCLA decided to switch sidelines from the East Sideline to the West Sideline.
That move was made in order to give the Bruins the benefit of shade coming from the Rose Bowl Press Box and Suites. When that move was made, UCLA had no choice but to move the Student Section due to a Pac-12 rule which prohibited a school’s student section from being on the same sideline as the visiting team.
The Mighty Bruin applauds this action by the Pac-12 Athletic Directors to allow this to happen. The worst part of the sideline shift by UCLA several years ago was the fact that the Den got stuck sitting in the end zone where the seats are basically the worst in the Rose Bowl.
This move back to the old location will deliver a much improved student experience and, make no mistake, the UCLA student experience should always be at the top of the list whenever changes to the status quo are considered.
We want to thank Athletic Director Martin Jarmond, Senior Associate Athletic Director Josh Rebholz and the entire UCLA Athletic Department for making this important change.

Great news for sure! Always amazed that the student section at Cal is on the 50 yard line. Absolutely no shade though! Agree with Bruin Gold that the student section at Pauley is less than desirable. Hopefully adjustments are made there too.
