On Thursday, Softball America honored UCLA sophomore Megan Faraimo with their annual Pitcher of the Year award. In her second season with UCLA, Faraimo’s stats included a 13-1 record, 149 strikeouts and a 0.85 earned run average (ERA). All ten of her starts were complete games and she pitched shutouts in half of them.
Faraimo’s ERA was good enough for 10th in the nation, which contributed to UCLA’s #2 overall rank as a pitching team. She was #1 in the country in her strikeout to walk ratio at 29.80, and tied for sixth in shutouts. Her 149 strikeouts were second only to Keely Rochard of Virginia Tech and she was recognized three times in the shortened 2020 season as the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week.
Fans can’t wait to see what Faraimo will bring back to UCLA in the 2021 season.
Go Bruins!
Congrats to Megan! Well deserved!
Imagine if we get Garcia back and we have these two on the mound in 2021.
