I'm well aware of Joe's longtime disdain for KIP's game management, and she's certainly had some head scratchers and some crazy overmicromanangement moments over the years (it's almost like she and Dave Roberts went to the same school or something?) but I'll forgive Kelly for not challenging a very close play at first early in a scoreless game with limited challenges available. I'd really just rather the supposedly professional umpires do their job and call the close play at first correctly, and make a few correct strike calls for our pitcher that needlessly extended at bats later in the game, and especially not choke the easy and obvious call at the plate which they inexplicably found a way to overturn.
And I am not thrilled to see Canady on the opposing mound again. I thought Stanford was already a memory, but here she is again in a different uni. Well, time for some payback and to stay on the winner's side.
She's allowed to stay in the box. Martinez never saw the runner coming, but not like she ever checked. The third baseman was yelling but now loud enough apparently.
TT gets a run in the top of the 5th. After a single and double put runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, TT grounded to first and the Bruins got the lead runner at home. But with 2 outs, the TT runner at 3rd took off for home on a straight steal. Our catcher Ramirez never saw her coming and threw the ball back to Tinsley. Big mental mistake there.
LFG Bruins!!

An easy 3 up 3 down for Tinsley in the top of the first. Great start. Let's hope our bats get a similar great start next.
Canady is problematic. She’s a competitor.
I wondered why anyone would leave Stanford to go to Texas Tech.
Turns out she got the first ever $1 million NIL deal in softball.
I was wondering how much money it would take to get her to go there, too.
Bruins get a couple grounders right at infielders and go 3 up and 3 down themselves. On to the second. 0-0 after 1.
After a leadoff HBP, Tinsley forces 2 popups and Pola doubles up the base runner on the second one for another 3 batter inning.
The Bruins get a leadoff walk, a bunt single, and another walk to load the bases with 1 out, but a K and a force out at home ends the threat. Grr.
0-0 after 2
Another perfect inning for Tinsley in the top of the 3rd.
The Bruins start the 3rd inning dugout party and hit two balls hard but right at the defense, and then a soft grounder ends the inning.
0-0 after 3
Tinsley goes 3 up 3 down including a K in the top of the 4th. She's looking really solid so far.
Bruins get a couple drives toward the alleys but the TT outfielders were able to run them down.
Our bats are getting close but nothing to show for it yet.
0-0 after 4
Fell asleep on that play. In the MLB, isn't that obstruction?
The Ghost of Thurman Munson called. He wants to know what obstruction is. He says there is no such thing! LOL

I was joking and alluding to the call against Max Muncie for blocking the view of the runner on third base.
Texas Tech's Gerry Glasco playing to win with a steal of home.
Meanwhile, KIP? Playing not to lose as always.

TT 1, UCLA 0 in the middle of the 5th
See ya!
BOMB!! Kaniya Bragg leads off the bottom of the 5th with a homer to right!!
Bruins get the HR to tie but nothing else in their half of the fifth.
TT 1, UCLA 1 after 5.
Ugh. TT goes deep to right center in the top of the 6th
