UCLA Softball: Bruins Look for Payback After 3-0 Loss
The Bruins need to go Duck hunting with their bats this afternoon.
In my preview to last night’s game, I wrote that “UCLA’s bats need to make a big statement starting tonight.” They didn’t and the Bruins lost their second game of the season and lost their second game this season to Oregon. In each of the three games UCLA and Oregon have played, the Ducks have scored three runs. Last night, the Ducks held the Bruins scoreless, 3-0.
Last Night Out
Last night’s game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Megan Faraimo gave up a two-run homer to Allee Bunker. That, essentially, was the game as UCLA could not score at all. The Ducks added an insurance run in the fifth on an RBI double to Haley Cruse, scoring Deijah Pangilinan.
How anemic was UCLA’s offense last night? The Bruins only managed four baserunners all game on two hits, one walk and a hit-by-pitch.
If Oregon holds the Bruins to more games like this, it could be a long weekend. Hopefully, the bats get moving this afternoon.
