UCLA Softball: Jordan's Walk-off Double Beats ASU, 2-1; Twinbill Rematch Today
After the Bruins won the first game of the weekend series, the teams will play a doubleheader this afternoon.
Yesterday, the UCLA softball team defeated Arizona State, 2-1. It was the lowest scoring Bruin win of the season so far. This afternoon, the Bruins will host the Sun Devils in a doubleheader. First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 1 pm PT and both games will be live streamed.
Last Time Out
Rachel Garcia pitched a complete game, earning a win by allowing just one run on five hits and a walk while striking out 14.
Garcia helped her own cause by putting UCLA on the scoreboard first when she led off the fourth inning with a solo homer to left center.
Neither team was able to score again until Arizona State tied it in the seventh when Makenna Harper led off the inning with a homer to left.
After seven and a half, the game was still tied, 1-1. Briana Perez led with a bunt single. A double to right center by Aaliyah Jordan allowed Perez to score, breaking the tie and winning the game for the Bruins, 2-1.
The teams meet twice today at 1 pm and 3:30 pm PT.
