This Bruin team has been special down the stretch and getting hot at the right time. Unfortunately so has OU. I think a lot of the success of the Sooners is the fact that they essentially play a home game at the WCWS. This will be an uphill battle but I believe in this team. Let’s go Bruins!!

It’s time to give the HQ leadership to Lisa Fernandez.

I've argued that KIP should have been replaced years ago, but she didn't make any head-scratching moves this afternoon. Although I was expecting her to make a pitching change when the Sooners loaded the bases early.

Freshman starter Kaitlyn Terry threw one bad pitch and Oklahoma's starter threw a heck of a game.

The Bruins just couldn't get their bats going this afternoon.

I never understood why Lisa wasn’t offered the HQ position in the first place. She was the face of UCLA women’s baseball with all her accolades. Sometimes you need someone who has been in those games when it depends on you to get it done. I believe Lisa can inspire the players. Do you think the bruins are going to recover?

Well, Lisa was effectively demoted this season, at least partially, since she is no longer the team's pitching coach.

Can they recover? Maybe.

I think they will beat Stanford and advance to Monday's semifinals. But then, they are going to have to defeat Texas or Florida twice on Monday. That's going to be tough to do, especially with KIP as the head coach since she has frequently made a lot of questionable strategic coaching decisions in the past.

Assuming the Bruins make it to Monday, I can almost guarantee that KIP will make at least one questionable strategic decision on Monday, either in Game 11 or Game 12. That's about as predictable as Chip Kelly not sending out his placekicker to try a long field goal.

Bruins lose a tough one to the Sooners, 1-0, and now, will crossover to Bracket 1 to face Stanford at 4pm PT on Sunday in an elimination game.
