9-3 is an improvement from last year and isnt a bad finish by any means, but it still feels like a “what coulda been” season had ucla won against az and usc. Its better but its also yet another year without a conference title.

Chip has the offense playing at great to elite levels but has to shore up defense or recruit for defense. Its year 5, and hes probably not going anywhere, so not fixing it is inexcusable. Hopefully mcgoverns ok.

Dtr has easily become one of my favorite players over the course if his development.

Win or lose i love this team so much and hope they always succeed. Glad they got the win today.

Go bruins!!!!!!

I just checked, Karl Dorrell in 5 years went 35-27 and got fired. Yet Chip Kelly can't even break .500 and no one wants him fired as far as I can tell. WTAF? I mean you are who your record says you are. Nothing more or less right?

Where the f did this come from. He’s done a mediocre job as our coach, at least until this season. No reason to attack the guy personally just because he doesn’t put on a show in front of the camera

Steve is pro Chip all the way. He defends him no matter what. Oh, and another poorly coached game today and again they were poorly prepared, fortunately it was Cal and not a better opponent or another L. Thanks Steve.

I literally called him mediocre. Pretty low class to attack him personally though.

No, you defend him, which is your right to do, but he is below mediocre, he doesn't do his job and everybody and I mean everybody knows it. I don't think people should be paid $4+m a year by sitting on their a$$ doing nothing but collecting a paycheck. A JV football coach in High School can do better, at least the JV coach would put in the hours. I know for a fact Kelly does not, nor has he ever. And as far as attacking him personally, when I see someone gaming the system and pretending to be something they are not, perhaps they should be attacked in many different ways because they deserve it.

Lol game the system? Would LOVE to hear what you mean by that. Do you mean accepting a contract offer when a school asks if they can give him millions of dollars to coach? UCLA was not forced to hire Chip, and they are not being forced to keep him.

“ when I see someone gaming the system and pretending to be something they are not, perhaps they should be attacked in many different ways because they deserve it” is truly a pos thing to say about a guy coaching kids in a game.

If you don't think people don't want him fired, you haven't been reading the threads LOL I believe we Bruins are resigned to one more year with Kelly; then we are all praying for the appearance of a coach who actually recruits both players and assistant coaches/coordinators.

I was unclear, I was referring to the administration.

This is a weird season. Chip Kelly has delivered an elite offense and piss-poor defense year after year. As a result, we’re left feeling disappointed even though if we were told before the season started that we would end our season at 9-3 with a chance to go 10-3, we’d be happy with it. And I think the sentiment is a bit different than the Dorrell years - our team has been improving on win totals while in previous years when coaches have been fired, the team has mostly been trending down.

It’s clear Chip isn’t going to be fired this year. If ucla fires their head coach after he matched the most wins ucla has ever had ina season and produced a top 10 offense, then our school will be a joke - no established or up and coming coach will want to take the job, especially with the coming move into the Big 10. But I don’t think Chip should survive into 2024 if he doesn’t hit double digit wins.

If they hadn't flopped against Arizona and U$C, the Bruins' record could've been 11-1 instead of 9-3. Unfortunately, under Chip Kelly it's the mediocre coaching, lack of recruiting, and consistently porous defense that has produced yet another season of lowered expectations and zero chance for any Pac-12 championship or major bowl game. Not feeling very optimistic about next year, so if he's still coaching the Bruins, sure hope it's his final season...

And, it could've been worse right? We barely hung in against South Alabama was it? And would've got killed by Michigan. We could be looking at 7-6 right now.

Everything's been said about Chip, so I've got to post about the game and that for some of the usual, big coverage mistakes, the D fought (and punched!) hard, and DTR brought them back quickly at 21-10 to make it close at the half. This was great to see, and the kid has earned my respect in the last few years and, I thought I'd never say this, has truly been a warrior this year.

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching DTR and I think he deserves a shot at the next level.

Will he or won't he play in the bowl game? Just read an article from NBC Sports where he was asked this question and he said he said he needs to talk to his agent, family, etc. TBH I hadn't really thought about that until now.

I think he needs to. Caleb Williams needs to sit out, but DTR is not a sure thing in the NFL. He has a lot of work to do. In any event, will be interesting to see who Chip brings in to play QB next season.

Oh, and Zach's two-yard fight for the first down after being hit in the backfield should be on the Bruin's running back highlight reel in perpetuity, must watching for all incoming young RB's!

It was great to be in the stands and literally hear Cal fans say over and over, "That guy can't be stopped." Charbonnet and the rest of the RBs really brought it yesterday.

Hate to say it but is all going to come down to NIL deals. If Bruin fans don't reach into the pockets and make a huge collective we won't be able to compete no matter who the coach is. That's modern college football.
