There is a long way to go. I'll believe in change when I see Jarmond gone. Good luck to Bob Chesney.

"UCLA is willing to do what it takes to build a championship-level program."

On this beautiful Saturday morning in Southern California, I'm going to blissfully interpret that statement as "Goodbye, Martin!".

Well one new thing they did is include an NIL donation link to the announcement email. Seems like the athletic dept might finally be embracing NIL 3 years too late

Yeah, I saw that in the email. Agree that it's probably a bit too late. A lot of catching up to do.

Bob Chesney's heartfelt words show his genuine, steady and strong character. The leadership he speaks of will be his alone.

Blockhead 2.0 and Donut Head Jelly 2.0 offer the same verbal bag of canned garbage.

The two Heads and their Holes will be relegated to Chesney's shadow. The contrast will be ever present.

But imho, Chesney will be Football's Wooden. He will rise above, and he will begin with how to put your socks and cleats on.

God bless you Bob Chesney and with open arms and all of our hearts, welcome to our beloved UCLA.

I hope he turns out to be our Coach Cig. Love the Wooden analogy.

I will add one more thing... it's a great day to be alive, and be a Bruin!

This day is simply pure awesomeness!!! 💙💛💙💛

And equally happy that suc has stellar leaders like riley and lynn 🤣

I don’t get it. Does the “cheerleader” aka Jarmond have some nasty smut on Frenk and Wasserman?

Perhaps they have nasty smut on each other 🤣

From the LA times article about the announcement:

"The Bruins managed zero first-, second- or third-team All-Big Ten selections this season."

That's a pretty step hill to climb.

I'll assume that the UCLA job is HC Chesney's biggest challenge that he's faced in his entire career. But he apparently has a clear plan on how to fix things, and hope he gets all the support that he needs to get it done!

A good hire imo.

Wow, still so many negative comments in here.

Hoping for a 7 to 9 win season next year! Go Bruins!

I think the negative comments are pointed at Jarmond. It's sad that UCLA athletics, particularly football, has hit a low point under his watch. If we won't fire him, then hopefully he'll keep his hands off and his mouth shut. I think Chesney is a great hire and I'm rooting for him, but proof will be in the pudding. He's a winner, but will UCLA give him the support he needs to build a nationally relevant program?

Keep Julio Frenk (aka Blockhead 2.0) and Martin Jarmond (aka Donuthead Jelly 2.0) far far away from ANY Athletic program at UCLA and those programs have a pretty good chance of thriving.

So here is what I didn't realize. Bob Chesney really wanted this job, and he marketed himself for it. Apparently, he penned a 15-page "plan" to resurrect the UCLA football program. Now that to me is fascinating. I don't think I've heard of a high-level and high sought after coach doing this before. So, this is a more unique situation than the regular coaching hire. Both sides really wanted this. Typically, it's the coach that wants the cash that resonates. Here it may have been cash for Chesney, but it's also a step up for him (as far as Conference stature & competition) and he HAS A PLAN. I also learned that this wasn't completely unique in that Curt Cignetti from Indiana did the same thing when the Hoosiers came knocking. Let's hope for UCLA and the UCLA Athletic community that Indiana's history repeats itself with our Bruins.

Wonder if the big donors are going to start pouring money in now. I see a pretty splashy introduction webpage, but sorry, nobody can buy any tickets yet for Bruins home games at the Rose Bowl (or SoFi Stadium, LOL):

And if longer is better, then the dysfunctional UCLA Athletics administration is improving on their ability to write lengthy press releases when announcing their new HCs: Chip Alford (contained 42 words total), DeShaun Foster (755), and now Bob Chesney (1,122).

After going through multiple HC failures from hiring former Bruins (with and without HC experience) and NFL retreads, I think the Bruins are very fortunate to get someone like HC Chesney to come to Westwood. I wish him all the luck in the world in putting out the dumpster fire, rebuilding the UCLA football program, and avoiding the jelly donuts from inept AD Martin Guerrero (that curse of Frenkenstein still exists!).

Go Bruins!

Champion of Westwood has already started a campaign and I think they have raised $95,000 with a donor pledging to match up to $200,000.

Champion of Westwood has taken over for Bruin for Life as the NIL rep.
