After needing just over a minute to put away the NCCU Eagles yesterday, the UCLA Bruins have jumped two spots in this morning’s AP Top 25 poll to #22. The Bruins remain ranked 24th in the Coaches Poll.
Georgia and Michigan are ranked first and second in both polls again, but that’s where the similarities really end. Texas and Florida State flip-flopped spots to #3 and #4 in the AP Poll while the Seminoles held onto the three spot and Ohio State moved into the four spot in the Coaches Poll. Southern Cal continues to be ranked fifth in both.
All other Pac-12 schools in Top 25 held or moved up in the AP Poll except Colorado which dropped to 19th. Washington is still eighth in both polls while Oregon and Utah are ranked 10th and 11th in the AP Poll and 11th and 10th in the Coaches Poll. Oregon State comes in at 14th in the AP and 15th in the Coaches Poll.
Colorado is now ranked 19th in both polls after they needed two overtimes to beat rival Colorado State.
Washington State moved up to 21 in the AP Poll and entered the Coaches Poll at 23, just ahead of the Bruins.
Looking to the future, there are several Big Ten schools ranked in this week’s polls. In addition to Michigan and Ohio State, Penn State remains seventh in both. Finally, Iowa is ranked 24th by the AP and 22nd by the Coaches poll.
Here are the both complete Top 25 polls:
UCLA’s next game will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in Salt Lake City as the Bruins open their final season of Pac-12 play with a game against the #11/10 Utah Utes. Needless to say, a win on the road next week will see UCLA jump significantly come next Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12:30 pm PT and the game will air on Fox.
Go Bruins!!!
