The 2020-21 UCLA men’s basketball team will be without the leadership of Chris Smith. That’s because Smith has told ESPN that he plans to enter the 2020 NBA Draft.
ESPN quotes Smith:
I'm 100% committed to the process and am excited to see what the future holds.
This past season under the tutelage of head coach Mick Cronin, Smith had a breakout year and finally showed off the potential that so many folks thought he had when he entered UCLA in 2017.
He played so well this season that Smith earned the Pac-12 Most Improved Player award and All-Pac-12 first-team honors.
Of course, just because Smith has announced plans to enter the NBA draft, it doesn’t mean he’ll keep his name in it. He has until ten days after the NBA combine, if that happens, to remove his name and return to Westwood for next season.
All of us here at The Mighty Bruin wish Chris the best of luck. Thanks for a great season!
Go Bruins!!!
Sad to see him go, but wish him success. Come back and get your degree.
Hey Joe. I made it over here. Hope Smith srats.
