The question regarding Fickell and/or Aranda is why would they leave? You laid out some rationale, but I question whether or not UCLA would be sn upgrade for either. I would love to see a UCLA win the PAC-12 again. A National Championship? I just don’t see that happening for any PAC-12 team anytime soon.

Fickell just needs to look at Cronin to see the potential. UCLA takes second to no school for recruit intangibles. Location, quarter system, social life, reputation, weather. If you build it they will come.
UCLA has a strong basketball tradition and is a top job. Football? Not so much. We love UCLA. I just don’t think that we are viewed as a great football job. The top talent is now headed to the SEC. Oregon is more pretender than contender, IMO. They are underdogs against Utah.
