Spaulding Report: UCLA Football Week Nine Media Interviews
We've gathered all the coach and player interviews for you in one place ahead of tonight's Arizona State game.
Let’s take a look at what’s been getting said at this week’s UCLA football media sessions. Like we have so far this season, I’m just going to share these here all in the same place to make it easy for you, our readers, to watch them if you haven’t already. All the videos in this article are courtesy of UCLA Athletics on YouTube.
First, we have Chip Kelly’s interview from Monday. Kelly was asked about defensive coordinator Bill McGovern who was too sick to be with the team last Saturday for the Stanford game. Kelly concluded the interview by explaining that he hates playing night games because it limits the exposure the rest of the country has to see UCLA’s players.
As usual, Kelly also spoke on Wednesday before practice. Kelly spoke about how impressed he is with ASU quarterback Trenton Bourguet and how the ASU offense changes with him in the game compared to when Emory Jones is at quarterback.
Moving to the player interviews, DTR didn’t begin the week like he normally does. Instead, Monday saw Kazmeir Allen and Duke Clemens. Allen discussed his big run from the Stanford game while picking up a new nickname - the Kazmanian Devil.
On Tuesday, DTR and Zach Charbonnet were up and both spoke about having taken a class in Croatian. They were also asked about how much fun they are having in the offense this season.
After the CFP rankings came out on Tuesday afternoon, junior defensive lineman Gary Smith III was asked about the Bruins being ranked 12th and about ASU quarterback Trenton Bourguet.
That wraps up this week’s media interviews. UCLA visits Arizona State tonight starting at 7:30 pm PT.
Go Bruins!!!
