Spaulding Report: UCLA Football Sun Bowl Media Interviews
We've gathered all the coach and player interviews for you in one place ahead of today's Sun Bowl game against the Pitt Panthers.
Let’s take a look at what’s been getting said at UCLA football’s media sessions before this morning’s Sun Bowl game. Like we have so far this season, I’m just going to share these here all in the same place to make it easy for you, our readers, to watch them if you haven’t already. All the videos in this article are courtesy of UCLA Athletics on YouTube except Chip Kelly’s and Bill McGovern’s official Sun Bowl press conferences which are courtesy of the Sun Bowl Association.
Let’s start with today with Chip Kelly’s interview from last Friday. Kelly discussed how everyone that’s been a part of the program this season will had been practicing and expecting to play. He also discussed how any guy who may be looking for playing time was still allowed to participate with the team and all the festivities.
On Tuesday, Kelly also met with the media in El Paso. Offensive lineman Jon Gaines follows Kelly in this video. Gaines spoke about some of the gifts the players received and what it
Finally, Coach Kelly held his official pre-game press conference.
Our final coach interview today is the media interview which defensive coordinator Bill McGovern held on Tuesday. It’s nice to see him doing well enough to travel and Bruin fans should be happy that he’ll be back calling the UCLA defense after weeks of poor defenses called by Clancy Pendergast. One thing that McGovern discussed is how UCLA will adjust defensively to the Pitt personnel changes. McGovern also addressed his desire to return next season.
Let’s move on to the player interviews. First, we have DTR and Bo Calvert and the Murphy brothers from December 16th.
Next, we have Atonio Mafi and Stephan Blaylock from December 18th.
On December 21, Kam Brown and Jake Bobo were interviewed.
The final player interviews before the team left for El Paso were with Jacob Sykes and Duke Clemens.
That wraps up this week’s media interviews. UCLA plays Pitt today in the Sun Bowl starting at 11:00 am PT.
