Joe - Were we under consideration for a bowl?

Yes. A win against Stanford would put them at 4-3 and make them bowl eligible under Pac12 rules.

Looking at the limited number of bowls (most of the PAC 12 tied bowls were cancelled), I didn't think we were even slated for an invite.

The bowl less streak under Chip Kelly continues!

But look on the bright side! More time for Kelly to develop his catering business!

(Sorry, Joe, that's all I got.)

Merry Christmas to all -- even Chip Kelly!

Ya I'm not down with this. You get one chance to play college football. I do feel for the players. I get that the bubble, the daily testing, the uncertainty, and all the restrictions suck. But clearly some guys just want to be "done" and go home. WEAK.

Totally agree. This does not bode well for brining the intensity against Stanford.

i guess the story is they want to be with their families as opposed to isolated. Please. These are college kids, many of which go far from home for college. They can last a few more weeks, not to mention the fact that once the season is over they will probably be back home for many months going to "school" online.

Was there anywhere that gave specific reasons behinds the team's decision? I guess it'll be interesting to see if the team comes out flat tomorrow as if they're ready to be done, or if they come out on fire knowing this is their final chance to play this year.

how's this: if none of these pac 12 schools want to play in bowl games, which would extend the season 2-3 weeks, play 1 more week next week. Get 7 games in at least.
