UCLA Football: Bye, Utah. Hello, UC Berkeley!
The Utah game has been cancelled and the Bruins will now play UC Berkeley instead.

So, this morning, the Pac-12 cancelled tomorrow’s game against Utah because apparently doesn’t have enough scholarship players as a result of postive COVID-19 tests and the resulting isolation of additional players under contact tracing protocols.
Earlier this morning, the conference also cancelled UC Berkeley’s game against Arizona State, due to ASU suffering the same situation as Utah.
So, what is a conference to do when two of its games are cancelled due to COVID? Why take the two healthy teams and match them up a day later, of course!
That means that the Bruins will now open the season on Sunday against the Golden Bears at the Rose Bowl.
This should be an interesting game given that the coaches have less than 48 hours to prep their teams to play a completely different opponent than they were prepared to play this week.

As the conference tweet states, the game will be played on Sunday, November 15 at 9 am PT on Fox Sports 1.
Hopefully, the coaches prepped some sort of rudimentary game plan over the summer back when the Golden Bears were still on the schedule. Somehow, I doubt it. Expect this to be a high-scoring game on both sides as neither defense will likely be ready for the other side.
It should also make for one helluva an Eye Test next week.
Go Bruins! Beat UC Berkeley!

I have a feeling that after the CU game last week that there are a bunch of Pac-12 teams banging on Larry Scott's door and begging to play us whenever our regularly scheduled game falls through. Hell, CU probably called and offered to make it a back to back.
But credit to the conference for shifting so quickly and finding a way to get a game in. In what is basically becoming an exhibition season for the majority of teams in the country, this better than not playing at all this week.
I’m starting to think football should be canceled this year. I’m still going to watch because I can’t help it. But it seems sooner or later one of these kids is going to get desperately ill...
