UCLA and Florida State Softball Meet Again in Women's College World Series
In 2018, Florida State defeated UCLA and went on to win the national title.
Tonight, the UCLA softball team will take on the #10 seed Florida State Seminoles in the Bruins’ first game of the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. UCLA punched their ticket last Saturday after forcing a game three in the Los Angeles Super Regionals and blanking the Virginia Tech Hokies, 6-0.
UCLA and Florida State are the past two Women’s College World Series Champions, with the Seminoles winning the 2018 title and the Bruins winning the 2019 title. UCLA definitely has a bone to pick with Florida State since FSU worked their way out of the losers bracket and swept UCLA in two games to advance to the championship series. It was Florida State’s first national championship in their softball program history.
This year, Florida State swept LSU in the Baton Rouge Super Regional to get to the WCWS. The Seminoles are the only remaining ACC team in the tournament.
