UCLA's Faraimo Throws Two-Hitter to Shutout Utes, 5-0
The redshirt sophomore allowed just three baserunners yesterday.

This afternoon, the UCLA softball team will play a twinbill against the Utah Utes. First pitch for Game One is scheduled for 1 pm PT. Game Two is slated for 3:30 pm PT. Neither game will be televised, but they will be livestreamed.
Last Time Out
Yesterday, Megan Faraimo and the Bruins blanked the Utes, 5-0. Faraimo allowed just two hits and a walk while striking out four en route to her 13th win of the season.
The UCLA offense did what they could to make sure that this game was over before the Utes even had a chance to bat. Kinsley Washington drew a lead-off walk to start the game and she scored when Briana Perez tripled to right-center. While that would ultimately prove to be the game-winning hit, Aaliyah Jordan was up next and she hit a two-run homer to put the Bruins up 3-0 after a half inning of play.
Perez set the stage for another crooked number in the fifth inning by leading off the inning with an infield single. With one out, Rachel Garcia, who was in the lineup as the Designated Player, went deep to center for a two-run shot.
With UCLA now leading 5-0, Faraimo shut the door by allowing just one hit to the final ten Utah batters to wrap up the two-hit shutout.
Today, the teams will play two. Look for the Bruins to sweep today’s doubleheader.
