UCLA WR/RB Demetric Felton Selected by Cleveland Browns in 6th Round
The Browns are getting UCLA's most explosive offensive player in Felton.
With the 211th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns have selected Demetric Felton.
It is impossible to think about UCLA’s offensive attack last season without thinking of Demetric Felton. That’s because he led the team in rushing with 668 yards. That was good enough to rank 14th in the nation in rushing for the 2020 season. He had a career-high 206 yards rushing against Arizona.
Felton is a guy whose draft stock likely suffered by the cancellation of the NFL Combine this year because that left him with just UCLA’s Pro Day as a chance for him to show his stuff and he didn’t have a very good Pro Day.
That said, Felton looks like he will be in a decent situation in Cleveland. Felton was listed as a wide receiver in the draft but Cleveland listed him as a running back in their announcement, and early word is that the Browns intend to use him out of the backfield. He has two RBs on the roster clearly ahead of him in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, but Felton’s versatility as a pass-catcher should get him plenty of looks on offense.
Teri Ramirez took a look at Felton in our NFL Draft Profile.
Congratulations, Demetric!
