The UCLA Bruins have moved up again in this week’s Top 25 polls after beating Nevada yesterday, 27-0. Ohio State’s loss to Southern Cal, combined with Indiana’s close game against Minnesota, allowed the Bruins to move up to fifth in the AP Poll. UCLA is now the highest-ranked Big Ten team in the AP Poll. The USA Today Coaches Poll saw UCLA leapfrog Notre Dame to move up to fifth. The Bruins are two spots behind Indiana in the Coaches Poll.
This is the highest ranking for UCLA since October 21, 2001. For perspective, UCLA was still six months away at that point from naming Dan Guerrero as the school’s athletic director.
Miami and Georgia remained the top two teams in both polls this week. Utah jumped from sixth to third in the AP Poll and from fifth to fourth in the Coaches Poll. Notre Dame moved up to fourth in the AP Poll.
The Hoosiers fell to sixth in the AP Poll after nearly losing to the Golden Gophers. BYU, Kentucky, and Alabama all moved up one spot in both polls. Texas also moved up a spot to round out the AP Top Ten. Ohio State landed at tenth in the Coaches Poll due to their loss and they fell to 11th in the AP Poll.
As far as other Big Ten schools go, Southern Cal re-entered the AP Poll at 18 while they jumped to 17th in the Coaches Poll. Iowa was the final Big Ten team ranked in the AP Poll at 21st and the Hawkeyes jumped to 20th in the Coaches Poll. The final Big Ten team ranked in the Coaches Poll was Northwestern, which dropped from 18th to 23rd.
The Wildcats, the Ducks and the Golden Gophers all received votes in the AP Poll while Oregon, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska all received votes in the Coaches Poll.
Here are both complete Top 25 polls:

UCLA’s next game will be this Saturday, November 7 against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Huntington Bank Stadium, an open air facility in Minneapolis where the high temperature should reach a balmy 50°. Kickoff time is set for 9:00 am PT and the game will be broadcast on Fox with Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt calling the game.
Go Bruins!!!

This one is for you, T.........I am offering a new handle for our coach (at least, I haven't seen someone bring this up....and my apologies if someone already did): "The Wizard's Apprentice." It is a respectful handle. It perfectly honors John Wooden's legacy while capturing the fact that Bob Chesney is only 49 years old, in his very first season at UCLA, and is currently building toward that ultimate championship goal. It also is grounded in the absolute magic he is working on the field right now, while acknowledging that he is learning and applying the Master's trade of turning an athletic program into a national powerhouse. In addition, this "Apprentice" has an incredible opportunity to graduate to "Master" status very soon. With an 8-0 record, the Bruins are sitting on the doorstep of the Big Ten Championship and a guaranteed spot in the College Football Playoff.....What a ride thus far!

...says it all, Joseph, says it all!
From the epic work by Jack Douglas, Never Trust a Naked Bus Driver, the sign up ahead at that point...
