Most of the pre-draft prognostications had Juzang ranked in the fifties (late second round), and he struggled a bit in the prospect camp, so it felt like the prudent move was returning….glad it’s finally confirmed. Has every chance to improve his draft stock by sharpening his game and showing increased consistency and maturity. Win-win for Johnny and UCLA.

Chris Smith’s statement is one for the ages. It reflects so well on Ucla that he recognizes the legacy of the four letters and has the ability to express himself.

Yes!!! I rarely fault these kids for leaping at opportunities, so color me shocked - and thrilled - that Juzang is coming back for another season. There is always risk in that sort of move but there is a ton of reward available if Johnny is able to maintain his team leader role we saw in February and especially March, and it really speaks to JJ's patience, maturity, and view of the long game. Winning aside, I really really hope it pays off for him in a 2022 NBA lottery pick for him. It seems less of a stretch for Riley to come back but he is a huge asset at a position where we are thinner on the roster. Things are looking good for Mick and the Bruins next season.

Now if only Kevin Love comes back for his sophomore year, I'll be confident that we can start making room for banner number 12.
