My sister went to Nevada and she and her husband are boosters. They were with us when Nevada was looking at Alford to replace Musselman. I told them run, don't walk away from Alford. The PR pitch to promote Alford was literally a full court press. When it was all said and done, I just said "good luck with that." I even sent her the iconic photo of him clutching the sides of his face!
Kudos to Murray and Slater. Those guys were unconscious through the first 30+ minutes and single (double?) handedly made this a tight game for a long way. Ultimately, the Bruins had the depth and talent to pull away but LB State is going to be a problem for a lot of teams.
I'd give a game ball to Jaylen Clark. Juzang will always be the offense and hit a pair of 3s early, but was then 1 of 7 from distance the rest of the way and that bogged down the flow at times. In fact, U.C.L.A.'s overall reliance on long 3s the first half got a bit frustrating. Clark doesn't force himself upon the offense but just digs in on D, hustles for rebounds, and scraps together efficient points every game. You cannot underestimate the value of a talented player with a blue collar mindset like that.
Diagnosed as an MCL sprain, out a few weeks. May or may not be back for Gonzaga but honestly letting him get healthy and avoiding missing the entirety of the season is the best course of action.
I'm here from BN because apparently Vox doesn't give enough of a shit to hire writers to cover the all time winningest program in NCAA program history and the current No. 2 basketball program in the nation.
Looking forward to the great content from you guys, it's been a minute!
Hey ender! Welcome! (and it's about time! ;-) ) This place is great and getting better every day.
It wasn't entirely Vox's fault. California passed a law which was originally conceived to provide some job benefits for Uber drivers but it got expanded to basically include anyone who was an independent contractor and the writers for the SB Nation sites got lumped into that. That required Vox to have to pay them and offer benefits like full time employees, but there's no way Vox could afford to do that for the number of writers required to keep the blogs going full time. They tried to have one hired writer keep multiple California based sites going but it wasn't feasible (or any good). So along with BN, Cal Golden Blogs, Stanford's Rule of Tree, the Pac-12 site Pacific Takes, and that odd thing they had over at *$c all basically shut down.
Hey gbruin, good to see a familiar face. I do remember the law and it's effects, I guess what I find frustrating is the fact that that some CA SBNation blogs (mostly the pro sports ones) have hired writers back one while the college on s have been left in the dust.
I imagine I'm not the only one not willing to pay for a subscription to the LAT/OCNR/24/7 to get my coverage, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same, so it's hurt to not have a free site for Bruins coverage, the athletic program deserves better.
Bruin Gold, Alford really sucks.

"the usual bottles of Ambien..." lol, Brilliant.
11-21 is pretty damn good.
What's the word on Riley? Last night someone said he was seen limping around Pauley.
That was me. I was seated behind the bench. Riley was limping noticeably.
Thanks, ArmyBruin, the sports news I read hasn't spilled the beans on his injury and status.

Thanks, Dimitri, I agree, Vengeance against the Zags is a nice, but another productive tourney run would be better.
Oh wow, you guys finally did start this blog!

Hopefully TMB will help change that!
