1. Who Will Stop the Rain?
Let’s talk about the weather. This Nor’easter that’s going to hit the Eastern seaboard is supposed to be a good size storm. It’s already caused multiple MLB games to be rescheduled for this weekend. Of course, if it’s accompanied by lightning, the game could be delayed.
As long as the game is played, the weather could be the X factor in this game, resulting in more turnovers as well as players slipping and falling on the FieldTurf, ending plays earlier than may have happened under dry conditions.
2. Three Hund-No
The Bruins must find a way from to keep Malik Washington from throwing for more than 300 yards. There are multiple options for accomplishing this. UCLA could just play great defense that forces incompletions or, better yet, takes the ball away via picks. It could also be caused by the weather making the wet ball difficult to catch (or throw).
3. Pound the Rock
Given the weather forecast, establishing the superiority of the Bruin rushing attack should lock this game up. Look for the Bruins to keep the ball on the ground as much as possible,
4. Win the Turnover Battle
As an added fourth key today, the Bruins need to win the turnover battle. UCLA has been good turning the ball over more than they have given it away so far this season, but this will be super important in today’s bad weather conditions.
