I don't mind the sleepy opening as long as they awake, which they did, and got the job done. Not that this should become a pattern but with UC Davis ?!? They needed a break, folks.
UC Regents' official affirmation of UCLA joining Big Ten is, to me, a foregone conclusion. The seventies' mantra of student athletes is long gone for most major college programs. This is the era of athlete students. $$$$ is the bottom line. To compete in the most lucrative TV market, the most watched conference is win / win for both UCLA and its players. Enough said
For this "practice" game against an inferior UCD team, it seems OK for Cronin to give Nwuba all of the minutes subbing Bona because he's a senior. But too bad he didn't put Stong in at the end... Happy Holidays, Bruins!

For comparison of common opponents, Nevada (10-3) defeated Norfolk State 78-66.
Nevada ?!? Is it the school where Steve Alford ( mere mentioning the name sent me the chills ) used to coach ?
Still there. He's performed his usual downward trajectory over the seasons, but is having a rebound year. Maybe he found his coveted stretch 4.
