Spaulding Report: UCLA Football Washington Week Media Interviews
As you wait for tonight's game to kickoff, we've gathered all of this week's UCLA Football interviews for you in one place.

As usual, we’ll get right to this week’s interviews and see what’s been getting said at this week’s UCLA football press conferences. I’m just going to share this week’s videos here all in the same place to make it easy for you to watch them if you haven’t already. The videos in this article are courtesy of UCLA Athletics on YouTube, unless noted otherwise.
We’ll start off, like we always do, with interim head coach Tim Skipper.
Of course, the big question was whether Coach Skip had an update on Nico, but he was non-committal. He indicated that he wanted to wait for the medical report. That was probably the most significant thing he said during the 7+ minute interview.
On Tuesday, tight end Jack Pedersen and Keanu Williams met with the media. Among other things, he was asked about the status of the Rose Bowl.
Pederson was asked if he has a preference as to where UCLA plays next season. He replied:
I love the Rose Bowl. I played in it for my four seasons here. Obviously, they don’t…I’m not a part of those conversations and above my pay grade, right? If we go to So oFir Rose Bowl, but you know, it’s a great place and great atmosphere. I think a lot of us love it and love playing there. I think we just love to play football, too.
Williams was asked about the Washington offense. He said:
They got a good back, actually a couple good couple backs. So the that’s going to be a challenge there. And then they got a good scheme for run and they got a really good mobile quarterback that we got to take care of and um that’s just that’s really it. So we just got to make sure we’re on our P’s and Q’s when it comes down to playing.
Then on Wednesday, Key Lawrence and wide receiver Mikey Matthews met with the media. Lawrence was asked about the Washington offense. Lawrence responded by saying:
Great offense. They’re pretty good in the front. They pretty good in fundamental. Of course, they have a lot of extended plays. The quarterback they have. He’s a shorter guy, so he’s trying to get out of the pocket a lot from. So, he can see the receivers a little bit more. And uh they got a great receiver core. So, I think it’ be a front game offensively at that point.
Mikey Matthews was up next. Matthews spoke about keeping a positive mindset along with what it would mean to finish the season with two wins, among other topics.
