It’s a Cori Close coached team. Historically her teams are noted for losing when it counts. When I refer to counts is winning in NCAA tournament games. My opinion is UCLA has more talent than any other team in the field. Today UCLA was beatable. Not inspiring. All said I love this team.

Hi Fruithi,

I thought the team was very inspiring today. Our defense was outstanding and every team is going to give us their best effort.

Coach Close and her staff have developed this team beautifully over the years and recruited key players like Char and Gi who have been instrumental in our success. They are poised, confident and highly intelligent.

I wish cronin was 1/10th the person, coach, teacher and recruiter that Cori Close is...

I am not saying you are part of the anti-Close, pro cronin gang... But I also realize that there are folks who are more in cronin's camp and may not give Close the credit she deserves.

But whatever anyone thinks about Coach Close or cronin, I suppose all will play out in the big dance.

We do agree on one thing... we love these Lady Bruins!!!

Uh oh, is anti-Close fever the next UCLA epidemic? I'm guessing that lethargy, sloppiness/excessive turnovers, and being outcoached/outplayed are some of the likely causes...

Best of luck in the Big-10 Final and Go Lady Bruins!

This team is not lethargic. They had one bad Q against Wash, but otherwise lethargy is not in their repetroire.

The team has improved in the turnover arena but there is absolutely room to improve.

Last season we were outcoached by UConn, this season we were outcoached by Texas. I think Cori Close has really grown in so many areas of coaching. Humility is one of her strengths.

Heck, it has taken Cronin the entire season to figure out how to reach his players when it comes to defense. Humility is not one of his strengths.

We are 30-1, having played the toughest schedule, SOS #1, in the country. We have one of the top offenses in the country and a very good defense...

Scoring rank: 6th

Offensive Efficency: 1st

Shooting: 51%, 2nd

Offensive rebs: 2nd

Pts in paint: 5th

Scoring defense: 26th

Defensice efficiency: 27th

BIG 10 defense: 1st

Yes, we can still improve on defense, but cronin's team isn't 'close' 🀣 to the Lady Bruins.

Defense excellence. Offense why we don’t constantly work the ball into cherry pick Lauren for lay ups I have no clue. Again this team demonstrated today why they are beatable. DD put it succinctly in his write up. You just don’t show up to these tournament games and expect to win. And yes this team will be in the big dance. But Close has to do a better job preparing this team.

Every team in the country is beatable including UConn.

We have had the #1 SOS, and more than doubled the number of Q1 wins versus any other team.

I will take Coach Close and this team, every single time.

But honestly, we either win the Nattie this year, or it will be a huge lost opportunity and more than πŸ’”

Oh it should be noted. Dugalic came off the bench with 14 points and 6 rebounds. That’s crazy awesome.
