I'm pretty sure that this was my first UCLA-USC basketball game since I graduated, and what a game it was!
Not only did they never trail, but there was a point near the end of the game before Cronin took his foot off the gas that it looked like the Bruins were going to win by 40 and score over 100.
It was a complete game from the opening tip until the final buzzer. If they play like this all March, it will be a very fun month! Let the Madness begin!
WOW! Where has this team been? We played with competitive greatness, and played our best when our best was needed! Every aspect of the game was played at such a high level! WOW, just fricken WOW!
If this team plays at this level in the BIG Tourney and when the Madness begins, we could go far, really far! ππ
What a great day to be a Bruin! The Ladies crush OSU and the Men crush suc! Tomorrow, I believe our Ladies will prevail over suc and win their first BIG Touney!
I was sooooo sad to miss this game! I was at a dinner event with the publishers of a magazine I write for, and had to miss this Bruin beauty! Missed being with my Bruins family ππ Love you all ππ
Is there any way to hear the boadcast Josh and Tracey did - is that ever recorded?
Epic day all around! Can't wait to see the Ladies vs suc for the BIG championship! Go Bruins!!! ππ
Like Jim said, we all missed you! I don't think the radio broadcast is recorded, but I believe the post game is. I think it is available on the Bruins app.
Thank you! ππ I watched the highlights and the team effort was outstanding. The Ladies made us so proud yesterday as well! I will see you on Friday for likely Wisconsin. I wonder how John is holding up after his Badgers tanked against Penn State. Poor John π€£
That's assuming the 5th-seeded Badgers actually survive their contest over the winner between the 12th- and 13th-seeded teams. Wisconsin flopping at home in the 2nd half to a team that couldn't qualify for the conference tournament (Penn State) was a very pleasant surprise. And that game wasn't "stolen" from the Badgers, either.
Congratulations to the Bruins for an entertaining regular season, finishing their inaugural year in the B1G with a blowout victory to sweep U$C, and somehow ending up as the 4th-seed for the conference tournament and earn the double-bye. A lot of dramamine needed to be taken to cope with all of their ups and downs to get to this point. Lots of hopium will also be needed during their conference tourney, their eventual seeding and bracket placement for the NCAA tournament, and their ensuing March Madness run.
We were at my sister's house in Reno, and they are long time season ticket holders at Nevada. We watched the game together, and they were elated the Bruins dealt Musselman a savage blow. No love for him remains there. In their words, "The guy is only out for himself."
Glad the Bruins didn't give MuscleMan any initiative to take off his shirt after the game. Yes, the L.A. Times sure gave him a ton of print space in yesterday's paper (for a lot of $$$ maybe?). And I assume Nevada fans are absolutely overjoyed with his replacement from UCLA (hee hee ho ho)... ;-)
Oh my...well since you brought up the ripping off the shirt and his wife writing on his stomach with a Sharpie, my sister and brother-in-law said the Nevada fans never embraced that "celebration". And I clearly remember being together when one of their booster friends texted them, extolling the resume of this coach they were in the process of landing. We were driving in the car together and we started asking questions so they did some probing. Figured it out who it was pretty quickly and after they confirmed in was Alford, we said, "If it isn't a done deal, run don't walk" and if it is a done deal, "Our condolences". After his first season, I sent them the meme of Alford clutching his cheeks in shock and they said "Yeah we get it now". They told us on Saturday they are happy if they win half their games. Ouch!
I guess the record of underachieving Sweet-16s at UCLA looked very enticing to the Nevada AD and supporters. Apparently, they're stuck with him for at least another season:

You were the good luck charm Joe! Please start going to more of them! (Iβm staying away since the last time I went Bona and Clark got injured π€)

Hopefully Mara and Mack kill Wisconsin in the paint again.

Go Bruins! (Go Lady Bruins too!)
Funny that the Trojan Times (aka LA) print two pages on how great Musselman is. Then the great coach throws the team under the bus.
