How To Watch, Game Preview and Game Thread: UCLA Bruins vs. Washington Huskies
The Bruins conclude their three-game homestand when they host the Huskies at Pauley Pavilion tonight.

Tonight, the UCLA men’s basketball team wraps up their current homestand against the Washington Huskies. Tip-off is set for 7 pm PT and the game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 with Dan Hellie and Casey Jacobsen.
Since the Huskies lost to the Bruins, 82-80, in December, it’s been up-and-down for them. They’ve gone 7-8 overall since that game, but they have gone just 3-7 in 2026. Their three wins this year came against Ohio State, Oregon, and Northwestern. Meanwhile, the losses came mostly against ranked conference opponents—Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska and Illinois—along with Indiana and Iowa.
By comparison, UCLA has gone 6-4 since the beginning of January.
Washington Huskies’ Starting Five
Expect the Huskies’ starting lineup to look mostly like it did back in December. Since returning to action against the Bruins last time, Hannes Steinbach has started every game for Washington, and he’s played better too. Steinbach has improved his average from 14.5 ppg to 17.8 ppg. He also leads the team in rebounds with an average of 11.5 rpg. Zoom Diallo, Wesley Yates, and Franck Kepnang also will all start tonight.
The lone probably change is that sophomore guard Bryson Tucker will start instead of Quimari Peterson. Tucker is averaging 6.2 ppg and 4.1 rpg. That represents a slight drop in points but a small uptick in rebounds from Peterson.
That’s not to say that Peterson won’t play. In fact, he’s one of just three Huskies to have played in all 23 of Washington’s games this season.
Two guys who won’t play are Desmond Claude and JJ Mandaquit as both players are likely out for the season with injuries.
Sixth-year forward Jacob Ognacevic should see significant time tonight off the bench. He’s averaging 16.5 minutes per game in conference play and he’s scoring an average of 4.7 ppg. He has only taken 24 shots in seven games and made 12 of them. Two-thirds of those shot attempts have come from three-point range and he’s made 7 of those 16 tries.
Analysis
While Washington has been hit with several key injuries, the Huskies have not been able to compensate for those injuries with guys off the bench. As a result, the wins have been tough to come by as the losses have piled up.
The fact of the matter is that Pauley Pavilion has not been friendly to Washington. They have only won seven times ever in Pauley Pavilion with three of those wins coming since 2006, but the Huskies haven’t beaten the Bruins at Pauley since 2016.
So, despite the fact that the game in December was very close, it’s pretty unlikely that Washington will be able to win tonight.

Yeah refs have taken over this game, you love to see it.
It’s like clockwork with these officials, the way they change up how they call a game from half to half.
